Sound Town DIY 2 x 4U Studio Rack with Baltic Birch Plywood, Weathered Brown for Recording Room, Home Studio (SDRK-D4B)

I don't write reviews but this company deserves it. I am an A/V integrator that has been installing racks from Middle Atlantic, Lowell, Atlas and others on a regular basis for over 20 years. This rack came packaged better than any I have received EVER. No one packages better than this company and that says alot as almost every rack I receive has had some type of shipping damage and always due to insufficient packaging. (I am keeping the packing materials to use when I ship something). All parts went together perfectly. Can't say enough about this rack - great job SoundTown!

Loved this piece. Loved the finish (weathered grey). Loved the quality. The pieces are solid and finished real wood. Not particle board or MDF. Putting it together took longer to read the directions than to actually build it. It came with a bag of rack screws too. Which was a nice touch. The finish nearly perfectly matched the finish on the 63” x 30” standing desk I purchased separately. That was a pleasant surprise that I wish worked out. Reluctantly I had to return the rack because the desk couldn’t hold the weight of all the gear, speakers, and computer monitors. I really wanted this to work out. It’s a beautiful piece of studio furniture. Only con I’d say is the price. Definitely above average pricing. But nice things cost nice money. If you have the coin, it’s worth the aesthetic upgrade.

Seemed ok though it’s really just held together with a series of small metal right angle joints. However after using about 11 months I decide to move it and I discover the top board is seriously warped and the layers of the plywood looking they are peeling apart from the middle.

Beautiful piece of studio equipment. Easy to put together and very well packed thank you soundtown will be buying more of your studio furniture in future.

Bought this to lift my monitor up along with placing multiple rack mount units under it and so far it has done the job. It was easy to build and I have not had issue with it. Onl thing is that I wish it came with black screws instead of silver though I am using the rack screws from gator frame with it.

This thing was super easy to assemble and is made from quality wood extremely sturdy and exactly what I needed for my rack components!

I loved the first one so much I bought another one! This is a quality product. I knew right away by the packaging that this was going to a value. Quality and very easy to assemble. Buy it!

Ive been looking for this rack for quite some time now. I finally pulled the trigger and I'm glad I did this works out perfectly under my 32-inch monitor for my home recording setup. Is plywood rack will not sag with the weight like most MDF rack units will. great job guys.

Definitely not worth the cost. On the left side, the screw holes for the L brackets are drilled incorrectly causing edges not to line up. This makes the rack mounts uneven and slightly angled so gear won't fit in the top slot. Wood was split around another poorly drilled screw hole. Couple of rough, sharp, and poorly sanded edges- one of which tore my finger open. No mounting screws for rack, which was supposed to be included. The materials are solid and this had the potential to be a decent rack. Unfortunately, the manufacture is bad and the quality control seemingly non-existent. Wouldn't buy this brand again. If the return process wasn't so difficult, I would return this in a heartbeat. I really regret buying this thing.
