Really good, sturdy equipment. I attached the hinges to a 4x4 PTL post - and then the fence section to the post. Then position the newly mounted fence section in place, and secure the hinge to the existing post. The screws work with either a rachet set or by opening the aspect of your drill. Really successful product

I bought these to replace similar existing hinges that the springs no longer worked on, for a pool gate.Well, the springs on these were inadequate to close the gate, in fact, when I tried to increase the tension on one, it just got stuck and the pin fell out when it closed. They seem to have tension before installed, but not enough to close a 4' gate. ON the up side, they are sturdy and easily adjustable to align the gate with existing post. I ended up using an accessory twist spring to close the gate.

Heavy duty enough for most wood gates. I didn't use the supplied screws- used stainless instead. So far so good...they do what they're supposed to.

Didn't work for me, unfortunately. Brackets bent on the initial install.
