i want to fit in a 2019 fiat Ducato do I need isolated or non isolated?

Hi, thanks for your enquiry. You will require the non-isolated version to fit in a vehicle. Isolated chargers are used in boats/marine applications

do i need a smart altenator for this to work or do i just need to connect it to the positive of my battery and the negative to the body or buzz bar?

Normal Alternator and connect to positive of battery abs a suitable Earth point 👍

Would I need a 30amp fuse/ breaker from the vehicle pos battey to this device to protect it?

Hi, all of the diagrams and youtube channels say that you should have one... hope this helps...

What’s the difference between the isolated and non isolated any one

Isolation describes the electrical separation between the input and output of a dc-dc converter. An isolated dc-dc converter uses a transformer to eliminate the dc path between its input and output. In contrast, a non-isolated dc-dc converter has a dc path between its input and output.
