WHEN CUT KEY WON'T START YOUR CAR WITHOUT ADDING A CHIP WHICH ABOUT $90 APPROXIMATELY, ALSO FOB HAS NO ELECTRONICS INSIDE. IT'S AN EMPTY BOX!

This unit could not be programmed. Ended up with mobile lock smith coming out with his own FOB. Had a back up at the same time, just in case.

The top half of my wife’s Miata key was falling off the base. I purchased this and simply swapped the key itself along with the immobilizer (little magnet looking thing in top half of key housing) over to this body. Everything snaps together and works like new.If you’re worried, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that’ll walk you through it.

As described it is a shell only with a blank key. However, after having the key cut it will not accept programming to actually start the vehicle. I was able to remove the internals from the old key so it will lock and unlock the vehicle from the buttons. The key will open the driver's door but it will not accept programming to start the vehicle to drive. I have to keep the broken key that will not stay in the fob on hand to drive the car.

This key came with 2 different boards from factory, they are not compatible with the alternative cases due to contact pads being different and using different batteries
