Thorough and easy to digest
I passed both tests on my first try thanks in large part to this book. This book really helped explain things in a manner that was easy to digest. A lot of the other A+ books I tried assumed I knew things that I didn't.I used this book combined with David Prowse's A+ Practice Questions to successfully pass both exams.

Don't buy this out-dated book
Or go ahead and buy it if you just want to learn about computers and not planning to take the tests. But this book is written for the 901/901 tests which have now been replaced. If you're looking to get certified, you'll be taking the 1001/1002 tests so you'll want a book that's up to date as well.

Lots of great material, a bit outdated
Passed my A+ with 796 (901) and 788 (902). This book helped a lot, and goes into quite geeky detail on many topics. However, I was disappointed about how it included a whole section on SCSI (which is not on the A+ Objectives), and its online tests were 801 and 802, and therefore, sort of worthless. Nevertheless, this book is well-organized in that it has the objectives listed in the back, and you can find what chapter to read to learn the objectives. There was an error on that, however, in that one objective (can't remember which) said to go to Xbook, Xchapter, and there was absolutely nothing written about the topic. Used this book with Meyers and Prowse's book. Good cross-coverage.

This book was the best so far
I have been using different sources such as youtube, the official A+ book, and free training website. This book was the best so far. The lectures were clear and easy to understand. There were graphics to show the thousands parts of the computer, which I found out very helpful.

Very helpful!
This was a huge help with passing the exam, I failed part 1 by just a couple of questions on the first try. I felt much more prepared after going through this book for the 2nd attempt and got an 88%. Very helpful book!

I am only on 'book' 2 but this is a great trainer so far I have learned a lot about how to prepare, what to expect, pretests, and hardware. Can't wait to get to the next chapter!

Useful but quite outdated
Bought this to do the A+ exam but after reading through bits I thought I was lacking in, found that it’s using quite outdated tech (ISA cards).Still useful for newbies to the IT Profession but for old hats probably not worth the money (for the book or exam). It’s also very “Americanised” which means some things don’t seem to make sense to British people like me. And having seen some exam questions for the A+ exam, the same can be said for those too.

Wow.....A Great Book.
Wow.....This is a great book!It is very well laid out and tells you everything you need to know to not only get through the exams, but how to survive in the world of IT professionals. It starts of talking about things which many would consider to be little more than common sense but, within a couple of chapters, you are up to your neck in technical matters but, it is all presented in such a way that you understand it! I love it.The A+ Certification syllabus is a big one but, working your way through this book will get you where you want to go. The CompTIA website suggests that one needs about Two Hundred study hours to complete the A+ syllabus, and to me, that estimate feels about right.

Good book but no access to online practice papers
Book seems great so far however mine did not come with an access code and when I tried to register online for one as guided by yourselves I was only given an option to register for the E-book which is fine. However the security question they wanted in order to access the code was a question about the E-book which I couldnt answer as I have a hard copy and its a different lay out. Ive now had to go on the website and start a discussion to try and get some sort of response to try and gain access.

Must buy study guide
An absolute must buy if you’re studying CompTIA A+ or even if you have an interest in learning about computers and operating systems.

Good value for money, lets hope it makes me some!!!
This really is suitable for dummies so I just love it, who knows this time next year I could have a proper job with decent money! Cant compare it with other books on the market as I havent got them so perhaps when I do the exams I might need to re-review if I fail ...
