Will this be okay as far as filtering out water or drinks while traveling in Cuba?

It's a WATER filter and will work THIS well: "Removes 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria, and 99.9% of waterborne protozoan parasites without chemicals, iodine or batteries" That means this product filters water - anywhere in the world - to this specification. If you travel, this means dependable water supply for personal use. If you run 'drinks' through it, whatever the ingredients, you will compromise the filter. How do you clean the straw? Mine did not come with directions

You can’t really; I dried it out for several days then stored in the bottle only to discover horrific mold all over everything when I went to use it on my next trip. Store separately, don’t ever assume it is “dry”, and you’re better off just buying a new filter for the next trip. Bit of a rip off really

Can I use this product on my hydration bladder rather than the water bottle?

The LifeStraw Go filter does not have the right connections to hook inline into a hydration bladder. The LifeStraw Flex filter will fit inline in a hydration bladder.

Does this remove flouride?

Accepted Answer

No.  A fluoride molecule is about 60 picometers.  This filter has a pore size of 0.2 microns, which is about 200,000 picometers.  You would need reverse osmosis to remove fluoride, and that won't fit in a water bottle.
