Beyond impressed.
I’ve been loyal to Arctic Fox for like a decade. I liked the brand better than Pulp Riot, which my stylist uses in the salon, so I always brought AF to my appointments and used it at home for touch-ups in between. For whatever reason, I felt pulled to branch out and try Lunar Tides recently. The reviews had me sold and I loved the shade range, so I figured, what’s the harm? I bought Cranbaby for most of my head, and Petal Pink for my money piece, and took them along with me to my appointment at the salon. My stylist had never used this brand before either, so she made sure to really saturate my hair in small sections to make sure we got even coverage. And my oh my, did it turn out like a dream. Cranbaby covered my faded purple flawlessly, but the best part of the whole experience has been how long-lasting it is for a red. Stylists and people with general knowledge of hair color know that reds are the hardest color to maintain. I fully expected this shade to fade to a pinky color before the one month mark, but it didn’t happen. I’m pleasantly surprised that I’ve finally found a red that is relatively low maintenance. I usually touch up my color at home every 4 weeks, but I went 6 weeks before I did it this time, and it wasn’t really out of necessity. Most of the color held up, it really only faded at the crown of my head where my shampoo is doing the most work. Although the floral scent of this brand isn’t as nice to me as the grape candy scent of Arctic Fox, that’s just a minor little detail that won’t stop me from repurchasing from this brand again and again. If the red holds up this nicely, I imagine the other shades will outperform AF as well. Petal Pink faded somewhat quickly, as is the nature of pastels and their lack of pigmentation, but with Cranbaby I don’t even feel the need to wash my hair in cold water to maintain my color, and that speaks volumes on the pigmentation and longevity Lunar Tides is giving me with this lovely red. I’m sold, I’m converted. I can’t wait to try out more colors.

Worked very well on already treated hair
I used this on my already color treated hair.I usually lift my hair to about a level 5/6, and then I would mix red and violet for a nice plum color. I have been doing this for years and finally wanted to switch it up.I wanted to get my hair to a really deep blue, almost black. I did a strand test first, and I really liked the outcome so I went ahead and did all my hair. It's almost exactly what I wanted to achieve, just not as blue as I'd hoped. This dye doesn't have a strong smell, it's nice and thick, which made for an easier and less messy application. I definitely recommend to anyone thinking of buying Lunar Tides.

NEON Pink! ❤️
This stuff makes your hair glow under black light. Js.I go back and forth between this product and another product (from THAT hair stylist guy), depending on what I have on hand. I like both. I'm a fan of the packaging of the Lunar Tides hair color. It's easy to work with and you don't have to worry about dumping water into your pot of hair dye. The color stains your hands (wear gloves), but I haven't noticed any staining of my (already destroyed) shower stall from it. When rinsing, the color STAYS. Very little rinses out. And it stays through multiple (gentle) washes. I applied it to bleached/toned hair and am very happy with the color. It does what you need it to do!

Not like the reference color
Pretty color but I was looking for more of a pinkish purple like a fairy purple instead I just got a blueish purple that faded into blue and green tones, great dye just not like the photo. fades faster if you don't wash with cold water but still pretty good fading sticks for a reasonable time frame, Ive gotten a lot of complements throughout the fading process so it stays pretty just fades a lil quick out of its original color then sticks with that light lavender after it's faded.

Some Absolute Hits, One Total Miss — My Honest Take on 5 Lunar Tides Shades
I’m always trying different semi-permanent hair colors because apparently I enjoy turning my bathroom into a low-budget chemistry lab. Lunar Tides had been on my radar for a while, mostly because their color range is fun and a little less boring than the usual options. I ended up trying five shades: Coral Pink, Lychee Pink, Nightshade, Neon Guava, and Magic Salem.Overall, I’d give the brand 4 stars because when they get it right, they really get it right. But one of these shades absolutely did not understand the assignment.First, the stars of the group: Coral Pink, Lychee Pink, and Neon Guava. All three of these were 5-star shades for me. They looked vibrant, held up well, and didn’t fade into anything ugly or sad. When they did start to fade, they turned into soft pastel versions of themselves, which I actually loved. That’s the dream with colorful hair dye. Nobody wants to spend all that time coloring their hair just for it to fade into “mystery swamp water.”Out of those three, Neon Guava was probably my favorite. It’s such a fun, juicy orange-pink shade that somehow manages to look both bright and wearable. It’s one of those colors that just makes you happy to look at.That said, with Coral Pink, Lychee Pink, and Neon Guava, I really think your hair needs to be lifted to a very light icy blonde if you want the color to show up the way it does in the jar or swatches. The first time I tried them over a more golden blonde, the result was a little muddier than I wanted. Not terrible, but definitely not the clean bright tone I was hoping for.Next up: Nightshade (which is now called Dark Purple). I’d give this one 4 stars. It’s a gorgeous, rich eggplant purple when your hair is light enough, and it looks really striking when it first goes on. Again though, this shade also works best on very light blonde hair if you want that deep, saturated purple effect. On golden blonde or darker hair, it still looks nice, but it comes out more muted and less rich. My only real issue with this one is the fade. Instead of fading into a softer purple, mine started pulling more blue over time, which wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t my favorite fade path either. And then we have Magic Salem. Whew. This one gets 1 star from me, and honestly I wanted to love it the most. The concept sounds amazing. A black-to-violet kind of tone with little bits of mica shimmer? On paper, that should have been the cool mysterious goth dream shade. In reality, no matter how light I got my hair, it kept turning into this muddy mauve-purple that never looked the way I wanted. And instead of fading nicely, it faded fast into a dusty, washed-out purple within just 1–2 washes. To make things worse, it was somehow also the hardest one to remove, which feels a little rude considering how bad it looked once it started fading. So overall, Lunar Tides is a bit of a mixed bag, but the good shades are genuinely really good. At around $13 per 4 oz jar, I think the value is decent, especially since some of these colors performed better than pricier options I’ve tried. My ranking would be:Neon Guava – favoriteCoral Pink – excellentLychee Pink – excellentNightshade/Dark Purple – beautiful, but fades bluer than I’d likeMagic Salem – absolutely not, straight to jailIf you’re looking at Lunar Tides, I’d absolutely recommend some of their brighter pink and coral tones. Just make sure your hair is light enough first, because these colors really do look best on a pale blonde base.

Do something different, boring hair was so 2026
We all know there are things we want to change about ourselves and most of us don’t have the patience or energy for all that. So I say color your hair: pink, purple, blue, green. I know all the hair stylist will gasp and faint at this comment, but it’s hair it will grow back(if for some reason it doesn’t, there are fabulous wigs to help with that too, imagine never having worry about what wash day it is or dry shampoo, I digress) You only live once so why be boring? Any color, all colors…you can’t go wrong. I love the vibrant colors of this brand.

Beautiful Colors
Ive tried this product for the 1st time on my hair and my daughter's hair, we used 2 reds, 1 blue n 1 purple. I have been using loreal highlights red dye for the past 5 years but I've noticed it caused some damage so I was looking for an alternative and I happen to find lunar tides recommend by an IG influencer i follow. The best thing to happen to me. I applied to my pre-lightened hair and its been a little over a month and the color is still beautiful, a little faded but is looking better than the band I was previously using at also a better price. As far as the conditioning claims im not sure, since I've only used it once. Im assuming I'll see a difference after using it long term for a few months. I highly recommend, I really liked the product and I will continue to buy it again.

More deep turquoise than cobalt blue
I'm looking for a purply blue to replace my ancient and sadly discontinued Special Effects Blue Velvet and Wildflower colors, and it's a real challenge. Lunar Tides Blue Velvet definitely has a greener (turquoise) cast than I wanted. It's not bad, just not what I wanted, and not nearly so true a blue as their images suggest. Lasting power seems decent for a semi-permanent. but it's still coming off on my fingernails 2+ weeks later. I'd left the dye on and my hair wrapped in plastic wrap for 1.5-2 hours. The smell was fairly neutral, but this dye did leave my hair pretty dry, notably more so than the permanent blue-black (Loreal Technique Black Sapphire) I'd done 3 or 4 weeks before.

Egal welche Farbe...

Beautiful color great price!
Gorgeous color! If you have light hair it comes out looking amazing! However doesn't last too long but for a color that's neon I'm not too surprised. Easy to use did not stain stuff really bad like some do, I love this will be buying again!
