Robinson Changing Our Minds: How children can take control of their own learning

Though provoking and hugely interesting read.
This was a great book to read if you are interested in children’s learning, the school system and thinking about alternatives to the usual path. It gives quotes lots of research as well as giving the authors opinion and own personal experiences. Focuses on self directed learning and towards the end of the book gives lots of useful information about how this could be carried out at home through home education. Quite scary to think about taking such an alternative route with your children but makes an awful lot of sense to me. I found the book very interesting and thought provoking.

An amazing read for parents and educators!
I bought this book because school isn't working for my child. It's helping me to understand why school isn't working for my child. But it is also changing the way that I, as a university professor, teach my students. The language is clear and very engaging. You don't need to know anything about teaching to read and benefit from this book, but if you do it will make new connections between all the things you already knew.

Brilliant book for home educators
Very validating of our choice to home ed, ideal for those whose children are neurodivergent or struggled in schoolI don't agree with how the author has worded information about ADHD and autism. Whilst I do agree that it is socially constructed like many things are I find it could really be misused by the "it didn't exist in my day" brigade.

Best book, a must read
It’s a super helpful book full of wisdom.Have recommended it to 20+ people how were thinking about the effect school has on their children, or simply question some of the methods used in many schools. It provides evidence of the arguments made and helped us to feel more confident about the steps we felt were necessary.
