The best finish on the market
The best option for underwater pool repairs for gunite, as it sticks much better than competing products and provides a much smoother finish. The only downside is the relatively small packaging (14 Oz) and the fact that it's not that easy to extract from the tubes (without dirtying up a knife blade). It would certainly benefit from being available in larger quantities packaged in tins as other competing products do. Working time is excellent too, as it gives ample time to mold and finish as needed.

Sealed our fiberglass pool seams easily and inexpensively, without draining the pool
This stuff is fantastic! I help to maintain the community pool for our condominium association, which is an oval pool with fiberglass sides and a plaster bottom. The caulk between each of the fiberglass panels had deteriorated and we were losing significant amounts of water through the seams. We considered draining the pool to re-caulk the seams prior to opening, but with the heavy storms and flooding in our area, we were afraid that hydrostatic pressure could do further damage to the pool. After quite a bit of research I found this product and it seemed like the perfect answer. I cut the compound, including the cardboard tube, in sections about 1 inch long from each tube and mixed/kneaded the two materials per the instructions. I then rolled the product into strings about the thickness of a cigarette and applied them to the seams, both underwater and above water. When I ran out of material, I mixed more, doing it in this fashion to ensure that the product didn't begin to harden before application. Application was simple, and it was easy to smooth the material into place and ensure a tight seal with just my finger. I sealed all 10 seams with one set of the product. I checked the seams after an hour, and every seam still looked perfect and the product was literally as hard as a rock. Time will tell if the product holds up as promised, but I see no reason why it should not. Using this product was actually far easier and less expensive than using Vulkem Seal or a traditional caulking product, and was easier and neater to apply. I also expect it won't deteriorate like other sealants. Based upon my experience so far, I would definitely recommend this to anyone requiring a sealant for similar purposes. I also intend to make this product known to my local pool supply company to recommend to others with similar issues.

used to fix cracked pool tiles!
My pool had about 6 cracked pool tiles, some of them with sizable cracks like 1/4 inch thick. I tinted this putty with epoxy resin pigment to match the tiles and filled the cracks. It worked really well. To tweak the look, (before the putty fully cured) I used the resin tint to "paint" the pattern of the tile, and the putty still absorbed it well. After curing it looked great, and it holds up. Note: if you tint, add tint to Part A and mix it in well by kneading with fingers, before adding the hardener.

As expected. Mix well
This product works as expected. Be sure to kneed it well. When you have left over stored away. Do not use it if the white part is crumbly.

Lessons learned..small batches, mix well
Iโve used pool putty twice in our fill pond, that holds water for our pool filtration system. The fill pond is concrete with a latex undercoat. If it gets a nick from brushing, vacuuming, etc., the latex can be exposed and deteriorate. So, effective patch coverage is essential for any nicks or cracks in the cement top coat. This product works wonders in coverage and holding up to the systemโs daily wear and tear. My first underwater application was perfect. Set up, covered nicely and has weathered as expected. Second try was a flopโฆtoo little mixing time and too thin patchesโฆthey flaked and did not set up. I removed them and started over. This time I used smaller 1โ -1 1/2 โ amounts, mixed until quite warm and pliable (2 - 3 minutes), and made even 1/8โ thick patches. Voila! Perfect patches that were set up in 20-30 minutes. Iโm keeping a spare tube handy, just in case I have more unexpected nicks. This product is a game changer. Prior to this we needed to drain the fill pond and make repairs over the course of several days. Costly and time consuming. Thank you pool putty!

Very easy to prepare, and equally easy to apply in air, but not under water.
The concept is really simple, the instructions clear, and the process trivial. Cut two slides of equal length, one from each tube, work them together until thoroughly mixed into a uniform paste (it does not stick to fingers, at least not enough to cause any problems), apply where needed, let it cure. I used it in two places on my gunite pool wall to repair seals between the plaster and the tubing, one above the surface (refill) and one below (the vacuum cleaner outlet). Easy to apply in air, tricky under water, because it mixes well with water, so that any manipulation that increases the surface in contact with water also works to dissolve the mix. I found it best to push the mix into place and not worry about the finish until after it had time to cure. As for curing: cured quickly in air, but very slowly (noticeably more slowly than the instructions would have you believe) under water -- perhaps it's because my pool is salt water? The result is more like plaster than like expoxy -- it holds, but it's not especially strong. I still recommend it forits ease of use, and also because I have not found anything better (short of emptying the pool to the level of the repair to carry out the repair in air).
