Way better than TSP products. With TSP the wood bleeds through and turns while paint yellow, with Gloss Off it cleans the surface and really gets rid of a lot of stain left on the surface as well as the top coats so when you’re ready to paint it’s all “matte” and a great surface for paint adhesion. I wish there was more because you need the rag really saturated so if you have a big project you’ll need at least 2.5 of these or more. I used mine for wooden baseboards, window trims, and more so I used 2 total. Maybe I was using too much? But I loved this stuff.

Poured this stuff in a paint tray. Rolled it on with a roller. Left it on overnight. Wiped it off with a damp microfiber cloth. In less than five minutes it was dry to the touch. Started painting! It was a savings of labor and time. Thanks!

I didn't want to sand our black painted banisters so I got this. Overall it worked pretty well but not consistently - on some parts of the banister, paint flaked off like crazy, on other parts it barely did anything. I had used the same paint on all the banisters so I don't know why it wasn't consistent. But the important thing is the paint stuck just fine and the banisters looked great after I painted them.

It cleans well but does not remove gloss. Wouldn’t buy again

I used to prep worn stained/previously varnished wooden kitchen cabinets Easy to apply, cleaned well and very slightly etches surfaces that allowed touch up Minwax oil stain to take well and blend in with the existing finish color. Polyurethane clear applied a day later when stain dried. I have dine this work before but it was so much easier and better outcome after prep with this product. Krud-Cutter has many different products-I only found this one one line- you need this exact product. I will use again for similar jobs

This stuff didn't work. I missed the return window but I did use 1/3 of it trying different methods to try to make it work after I tried the directions and nothing happened. I tried leaving it on longer. Leaving it to soak. Scrubbing it. Finally I just had to sand. Save your money and try something else. If your trying to get grease off then yes this will work. But I tried to get the shine off so I didn't have to sand.
