Soundcore Anker Mini, Super-Portable Bluetooth Speaker with FM Radio, 15-Hour Playtime, 66 ft Bluetooth Range, Enhanced Bass, Noise-Cancelling Microphone for Leisure and Work Use

This is a VERY well made small full range speaker...not sure what Voodoo they imparted into it but it sounds Really Nice. Although you can't really tell by it's appearance due to it's paint job, the external housing is an aluminum shell with an aluminum grill covering the top of the speaker. The build quality is awesome & it feels like a premium device. Not very heavy or bulky but putting it in a pocket it WILL make a big bulge. It doesn't come with a carabiner, there isn't a place to put a carabiner (no hoop or loop to put one.) It is also NOT weatherized, meaning do NOT get it wet. That would be bad. The bottom is plastic. The bottom underside of the device has a rubber "foot" ring so it doesn't slip on or off of surfaces but it can & will dance around a lil bit if you crank it up playing really bass heavy music. The over-all sound is VERY BALANCED, RICH & FULL sounding as if it has 2 speakers instead of one...I tried using an EQ & I really can't "enhance" the over-all tone of the speaker much better than it already is. I have added more treble for personal preferences but it's not needed as they shine without a need for an EQ. Mids are solid, straight forward, punchy & clear. I added 500m,1K,2K & 4K to try & get it "louder" but it just didn't sound "better"...it honestly sounds fine the way it is PLUS it's got PLENTY of bass as well so adding any more only makes it distort, that said I have the bass on the EQ turned down which really doesn't do much to the over all tone. With Most bluetooth speakers I've had/have of this size; I've needed to use an EQ to tweak the sound/tone to get it to sound better/louder/more balanced etc... but this speaker just doesn't seem to need that kind of attention. With the several bluetooth speakers I own in this size & price range I compared it with my Sony SRS-X11 & my TDK 08 TREK Mini to which sound the most like it. All 3 sound quite nice for their size only having a single speaker/driver. The Sony costs considerably more. I also wanna say (at least to me) it doesn't' sound as good but it all depends on the genre of music which I can attest too can make a big difference on how these small speakers sound. (EX: rock might sound great but a techno or dance track which have more bass will sound terrible.) With this speaker I have played several genre & it preforms really well with all so far...I would like it to be a lil bit louder but I can't expect to much more from it considering how small it is. The FM radio feature doesn't pick up stations very well IF at all, even IF I have the cord plugged in. Not that it matters to me as I do not listen to the radio much anymore anyways. so no big deal to me but that might be a big deal to someone else. The SD card reader sounds fantastic. The battery life is AWESOME! I turned it on & used it on my way to work, at work & on the way home after a 10hr work day & it was used THE WHOLE TIME...the 15hr battery life claim seems on point...at least so far... Pairing is simple, easy & straight forward. works with all my bluetooth devices. At least so far. It also reconnects to the last device pair immediately when turned on & bluetooth is turned on, on the device. The ONLY 2 "issues" I have with this device are subjective: it doesn't have an option/place to hook a carabiner to it it isn't weather (water resistant) With those two things aside & you don't care about clipping/hanging it off something &/or you're not worried about it getting close to pool side, not taking it to a beach/lake/river etc...or bring it being out in the elements...THIS SPEAKER IS WORTH EVERY PENNY OF IT'S PRICE if not a bit more...

This is an awesome little speaker. Sound quality will blow you away. All the different input options make it an all around workhorse. I bought a second one just so I could have one handy for various things. Battery life is amazing. I just can't believe this thing is this good AT THIS PRICE!

I love this freaking speaker. It has a built in sensor for fm radio!! As well as bluetooth. And the sound is incredible for its small size. It’s not going to quake your house but the bass is INSANE for the size, it rumbles itself right off the counter lol. The battery is pretty good too, I’ve gotten liquid on it an it still works good somehow. Very great for bringing a portable strong sound in a small area, but also it can be heard surprisingly far on full volume. I just wish brands would be like the 2000s and add colorful cool design options again, I’m so bored of just basic solid blank minimalist colors on every brand. We need to start requesting for unique colors, patterns, textured stuff etc.

I submitted a previous review, which I am now completely changing. I gave 4 stars both times. My *** BIG *** complaint is the instructions. They consist of pictures, which are grossly inadequate. I read them, really I did. My IQ is 125, I was a physics major, I worked as a computer geek for a Fortune 300 company, including documentation, training, instructions and manuals. If *I* can't decipher the instruction - I conclude they are very poor, indeed. I started out with the incorrect understanding that there are only 4 controls: On/off. Input selector. Volume up/down. Play/pause. However this is incorrect, because using long-presses causes some of the controls have dual functions, in certain situations. I will now review, feature by feature. The sound quality is reasonably good. Substantial bass, decent highs. However, I notice that "listener fatigue" sets in pretty quickly, which means that the THD (total harmonic distortion) is high. It is loud enough for use in the car while driving. When connected by Bluetooth, I have the volume on the speaker all the way to maximum, and the sound quality is still OK. If you connect either by Bluetooth or aux you can also control the volume from the phone, tablet, MP3 player etc. In town, I did not need to push the volume on my phone past the recommended maximum. However, on the highway (more noise), I did need to push the volume on the phone one or two clicks above the recommended maximum. Doing so did not distort the sound noticeably. But, again I experienced "listener fatigue", which is slightly worse when the speaker is at max, and the player output is extra high. The FM radio works, but was confusing. You must (as instructed) use the charging cable as an antenna, or it won't pick up anything. As soon as I selected FM mode, it starts a station search/sweep. But it only stays on each station for about 1/2 second. At first I thought this is how it would act every time you select FM. That would have been terrible because you don't have enough time to hear what the station is playing. I mostly didn't care because I can use the FM radio in the car, so I just dismissed the FM feature as not useful. However, on a subsequent selection of FM mode, I discovered that it was on a station. And I, by-dumb-luck-chance, discovered that long-pressing the volume up and down buttons, advanced to the next FM station or previous FM station. I've concluded that the initial sweep was collecting an inventory of local stations Not sure how to redo it if I go somewhere else. The SD card works, but is also confusing to use. I tried to figure out what order it plays files in -- random (good for most music), or straight through (required for a book). And I don't know what would constitute "straight through" - alphabetical by file name? The order the files were written to the SD card? Something else? I tested with 1 file on the root, and 1 file in each of 2 subdirectories. It only found 2 of the 3. I don't know what that means. I went ahead and built an SD card by writing files one at a time to the "root" of the SD card, so that the order is what I wanted (the equivalent of random). When I played the SD cards the files were played randomly, not in the order I put them on the SD card. It sure would be nice if the instructions explained any of this. I am concluding that a book would not work (didn't test that). And I'm not sure if-and-how using folders on the SD card would work. I did discover, by-dumb-luck-chance, that long-pressing the volume up and down buttons, advanced to the next item on the SD card, or back to the previous item. I also noticed, when playing from the SD card (as opposed to Bluetooth) I don't need to turn the speaker as loud. This probably helps with sound clarity. And, not using Bluetooth should extend the battery life of a recharge, since the (Bluetooth) radio is off. The size and shape are perfect to fit in a cup holder (in a vehicle). My cup holders have covers, so, less likely someone will see it and want it. But it is very difficult to take out of the cup holder once it is dropped in. A small handle or strap or something on the top would be an excellent improvement. I put a piece of tape on the side of the speaker, sticking above the top of the speaker, and folded the top edge of the tape over onto itself, to make a tab to grab it by. But putting it in a cup holder effectively defeats using it for calls with my phone, It puts the microphone at the bottom of the cup holder hole. So far, I've only received 1 call. I answered the call by picking up my phone, and answering the call there. Since the phone was Bluetooth connected to the speaker, the call sounds came out the speaker -- as intended. But, the microphone (at the bottom of the cup holder) didn't work well enough. I had to punch a button on the phone to stop using the Bluetooth for the phone, thus taking the call on the phone itself. It did automatically go back to playing music, when I ended the call. Nice. But I can't tell from the instructions how to answer and end a call on the speaker. I assume it is possible. Nor do I know if I can initiate a call from the speaker, by pushing a button, and then using voice instructions. I also tried putting the speaker on the dash board. I ended up deciding that it sounds better, bouncing off the windshield, except some of the high notes were slightly uncomfortable to listen to. This placement also allows me to keep the volume setting lower, which presumably increases sound quality and increase battery life. BUT, there is nothing to stop it from sliding around. I turned a corner too fast, and it flew off the dash into the side window. Nothing broke. Glad the window was closed.... Being on the dash will likely make the phone calling-features (especially the microphone) work adequately. The dashboard is now where I use it, all the time. I just have to remember to hold it, or take corners carefully. When you power the speaker on, it always starts with Bluetooth. I think this is reasonable. I had anticipated using my phone (connected by Bluetooth) as the music source, most of the time. But I ended up using the SD card almost all the time, after discovering it didn't need to be turned up as high, and that I could change tracks manually. It is easy to change input (Bluetooth, Aux, FM, SD card), repeatedly push the input selector button. I suspect that the best choice, for most people, is likely to be playing sounds from your phone/mobile-device. Then you have the maximum controls of what you are hearing, on the device -- specifically including random or straight through play. I don't know if it shuts itself off automatically. I didn't test by just leaving it on to find out. The battery life (with SD car play) is excellent. I use it for 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there - short rides across town. Still on the first battery charge after dozens of trips. Each time I use it, I pull it out of the cup holder. I switch it on with the switch. It defaults to Bluetooth connection with the phone. I select SD card. And set it on the dashboard. When done, switch it off, and put the speaker back into the cup holder for storage. I did use both music playback (from the phone) and google maps at the same time . They share the speaker perfectly, as expected, including turning the music down when maps is giving instructions, and going back when done. I didn't test Google maps (on the phone) at the same time as playing music from the SD card. I like the sound quality, well enough. I like the size and shape (but wish it had a "handle" on top). Overall I do recommend it.

Ever since listening to music on a friend's Bose SoundLink Mini, I've wanted to get a similar Bluetooth speaker for myself. However, being on a tight budget, I've had to look at much more affordable options. The Anker SoundCore looked like it would be a worthy competitor for a fraction of the price. However, I ultimately settled on the SoundCore Mini, due to the smaller form factor and slightly cheaper price. I've owned this device for a week and a half now and have been blown away by the product that I got for the money. This is the first Bluetooth speaker that I've owned, but I've found myself using this for several hours every day since purchasing it. My wife has also been using this frequently, to the point that I'm considering picking up a second one for her to use. First thing to mention is the design of the device. This is a solid little speaker with a good amount of weight to it. Most of the exterior is a nice quality metal, with a thin ring of plastic around the bottom and a nonslip rubber base. This thing definitely feels solid, and I wouldn't worry about dropping it a few times (although I have no intention of trying to do so). This is about the same size as a beer or soda can, and about half the height. It will easily fit into a car's cupholder. The sound quality of this speaker is more than acceptable for the price. I volunteer as a sound engineer at my church, so my ear is probably more trained than most, although I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile by any means. The music, podcasts, and audiobooks that I listen to are all extremely clear. You're not going to get super strong bass from this, but that's not something that I care about. The volume on this is also surprisingly strong. I can put this in the middle of our 2 story, 1700 square foot house and hear it clearly from just about any room on the same floor. Works great for listening to podcasts and audiobooks in the car as well. I have no problems hearing it above the noise of the car and the road when set to about 2/3 volume. The Bluetooth range of this should not be understated as well. It's amazing to be able to plug my phone into the charger in the living room, and carry the speaker with me from room to room and still get quality, uninterrupted audio, even after my fitness tracker loses Bluetooth connection to the same phone. So far, I've used this device almost exclusively for its Bluetooth capabilities. I have not tried the line in input, nor the MicroSD slot. I've tried the FM radio (using the MicroUSB cable to act as an antenna), and this speaker does pick up a fair number of stations, but the lack of a display means that it's difficult to determine exactly which station you're listening to. I certainly wouldn't pick this up with the intention of using it primarily as a radio. Overall, I really couldn't be happier with the value that I got for my money. Anker has a winner on their hands here, and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to purchase this, or any other SoundCore product from them in the future.

The SoundCore Mini is one of the best audio products I've ever purchased. The build quality, battery life, and amazing sound is surprising for a device that costs just $25.00. This speaker is about the size of a tennis ball and has a solid aluminum housing. On the bottom is a rubber ring that keeps the speaker firmly in place. The buttons are high quality and have a nice feel. There is also a microphone for voice calls, which works well. You can even use the speaker to activate Siri or Google now on your phone. Battery life is terrific at 15 hours. Bluetooth performance was very good, not the 66 feet that it is rated at, but I was able to get over 50 in my home. When it comes to the sound quality, I was blown away by this tiny speaker. There is just one 5 watt driver along with a passive subwoofer but the sound quality is amazing for its small size. The driver is top facing so you’ll get 360 degree sound and it does a great job filling an entire room with music. The passive subwoofer handles bass really well. You’ll hear the kick drum hit hard and suprisingly there is a good amount of low end bass. Bass is not boomy or overemphasised. Its tight an accurate. This is a very well balanced speaker, there is no need for any eq in my opinion. Mids are clean and vocals are clear. Highs have a nice open feel, not overly bright, again, the treble just seems right. This speaker also sounds great at full blast, there is no distortion and bass hits hard and high frequencies are clear. This speaker sounds amazing in a small room and still sounds good even in larger rooms. It is really amazing how loud this speaker can get and how hard the bass hits for such a tiny driver. There is also an FM Tuner and a micro sd card slot which are some nice extra features. I would really recommend getting one or multiple of these for your home, at just 25 dollars, you can throw one in the kitchen, bathroom, or bedrooms and have a solid setup for you house without breaking the bank. A speaker this size also works well to keep by your side when using a tablet, this blows away the quality you’ll get from a tablet. With its low cost, premium build and amazing sound, you can’t go wrong wit this small speaker.

I bought this years ago and its still functioning perfectly and the battery lasts overnight easily. I take it will me everywhere. The best part is the white noise feature which i dont see anywhere in the description, but if I press the "M" button when plugged in, I get the radio. If I unplug the charger, the M button becomes white noise on mine. Excellent for drowning out noise i dont want to hear at work, at a hotel, on vacation.

Simply stunned by how good this tiny soundcore mini speaker actually sounds! I ordered this when it was on sale recently for $17 to see how it compared to my Sony XB10 bluetooth speaker and honestly to hear for myself if all these glowing reviews were true or not. The Sony has the same can-shape, but is about 33% larger than the Anker Soundcore mini and is quite a bit more expensive as well. I like the Sony xb10, but does sound a bit distorted around half volume and above, with fatiguing mid/high detail. The overall rich sound of the Anker is much better than the Sony, which is shocking given the price and even smaller size. The Sony does have slightly more impressive bass response though. The form factors of both the sony xb10 and soundcore mini are great and both feel of solid quality with some heft for their tiny sizes. In terms of sound, i'm simply amazed that the Anker sounds as good as it does. I had a feeling that most of the 4 and 5 star reviews were fake and i would be utterly disappointed in the sound quality, especially for under 20 bucks. Boy was i wrong!! The Anker trails the Sony only in deeper bass output, but overall sounds much better with a slightly brighter sound signature and much better clarity than the sony xb10. I use it in my master bathroom while i shower and get ready for work every morning and just love the sound the Anker puts out. I've never spent so little on a bluetooth speaker before and really have never been so impressed either. I also own the Sony xb10, Sony xb20, Sony xb2, Bose Soundlink Mini series I, and B&O BeoPlay S3. I will be parting ways with the sony xb10 now, as the Anker soundcore mini simply sounds better with almost every genre of music. The Anker has solid low end, although i wouldn't call it deep bass, more midbass. The mids and highs are crisp, clear and balanced just right to my tastes, maybe a touch bright but never fatiguing like all my sonys tend to be. Of course not as good as the Bose soundlink mini or B&O, but at a small fraction of the price and size the Anker does a heck of job sounding rich and clean nonetheless. Highly recommend this little Anker speaker, but keep in mind that it does sound quite small and lean in medium/large sized rooms. It works wonders in small rooms though! Great job Anker, and i'll be sure to pick up a couple more next time they dip below the $20 mark. Well worth five stars even at full price of $30 though.
