Substantial glass food storage containers
These are substantial containers with lids. The glass container is clear and thick; I don’t expect it to break easily. The container holds a nice amount of food—3.5 cups. The lid has a removeable gasket that fits securely around the inside of the lid; I haven’t removed it yet, but I’ve washed the lid by hand several times. The lid has locks on 4 sides which press into place to create a solid seal. Overall, I like these OXO containers because I like how they seal food for storage in my refrigerator and because I can buy 1 or 2 at a time which helps me manage the number of glass storage containers I own. I will likely buy more in other sizes.

Best glass container I’ve owned — highly recommend
This OXO Good Grips 8 Cup Smart Seal Glass Container has become my favorite food storage piece. The 8-cup size is perfect for big batches of soup, leftover casseroles, marinating chicken, or storing cut-up veggies for the week. What I love: The Smart Seal lid is truly airtight — no leaks when I shake it or turn it upside down. Glass is thick and high-quality. It feels durable and cleans easily (even tomato sauce comes right off). The rectangle shape fits perfectly in the fridge and stacks nicely with my other OXO containers. Lids snap on with a satisfying click and stay secure. Microwave and oven safe (without lid), and the glass reheats evenly. I’ve had cheaper glass containers that warp or leak, but this one has held up perfectly after many uses and dishwasher cycles. The locking tabs feel strong and well-made. If you want reliable, leak-proof glass storage that actually stays airtight, this OXO 8 Cup is worth every penny.

Great Product
I'm replacing my plastic containers and this glass one with a leakproof lid was the perfect solution. Seals well & dishwasher safe. Lid is easy to seal and open.

NEARLY perfect.
What sold me on this was very positive online reviews AND the fact that it can be used in freezer AND fridge AND microwave AND conventional oven. (Note: directions warn NOT to put frozen dish into preheated oven, and of course the plastic lid should not be used in a conventional oven.) Easy to clean? Check. I love the way the plastic "gasket" is easy to remove and to wash. Stain resistant? The glass is. The lid...not so much, but also no big deal since the lid was not transparent to begin with. I can see what's inside when looking at it from the side (i.e. when it's in the fridge), and I expect the glass container will remain crystal clear as long as it is not severely abused. Water-tight? Check. Online reviews give it top ratings in this department. That big, beefy gasket gives you confidence that it won't leak. So, what's not to like? #1 - It's HOT when removing it from a microwave. Unlike the typical microwave container which has little plastic handles on the sides that do not get hot, this has no handles and so you have to handle it carefully with oven mitts when removing it from the microwave. #2 - Just a quibble, but when it's hot (the microwave has just finished heating), the lid does NOT want to snap on to the glass container. Let it cool for about 30 seconds [edit: 45 seconds] (with the lid off the container) and the lid will once again snap on OK. Of course, snapping on the lid after microwaving is nice because you're less likely to spill the contents while moving the container around. UPDATE APR 2022: broke on the first drop, 31 inch drop. (Floor: concrete covered with plastic tile.) Not sure if that's worth subtracting a star or not, given all of the other great features. It's been my most frequently-used microwaving dish. Still cleaned easily. Gasket still excellent. Plastic lid and gasket not prone to staining as are typical plastic containers. (I'm not saying that they WON'T stain, I'm saying that they haven't noticeably stained despite lots and lots of use.) I WILL be buying another.

Overall nice container
Glass feels sturdy and has a good thickness. Seals tight and no leakage happened so far. One thing I really liked is that removing and putting the rubber in the lid being really easy. The only problem I found so far is the quality control as one of the 3 containers I purchased a broken lid.

Closures hold tightly
OXO products are usually very dependable and I am impressed by the security of the lid closures as they hold firmly. This container comes out "sparkling clean" when it is washed in the dishwasher!

Hands down the best glass container for food out there
My history with food containers started with cheap plastic tupperware (not the actual brand, we use "Tupperware" to refer to anything that stores food with click on lids. Like Xerox or Google.) They warped easily and you can smell plastic in the food after microwaving. Then I upgraded to slightly better ones called Lock&Lock (mid 2000s). They were fine but the lids felt flimsy. Then years later I decided to only use glass containers and bought a set of AmazonBasics, which worked okay. One broke after bumping on the sink, and all of the lids have warped and stained within a few months. Then we upgraded to some other brand with air release valves. All the valves broke within a year, rendering the lids useless and the glass portions are now badly sized organizers. Then we upgraded to GlassLock. Extremely study build, great size and dimensions. Fantastic solid lids. But the lids are really, really difficult to open. Finally, I bought the supposedly most premium of them all, this OXO good grips container. My spouse said there's no way any glass container should cost that much. But when the goods arrived, I understood why it's so expensive. The glass is thicc af. They feel substantial. The seals were super easy to remove and put back. I dropped 2 of them by accident while unwrapping and they didn't break. The lids clip on and off with the right amount of force. Not too easy, yet not so difficult like the the GlassLocks. The "click" sounds are very satisfying. The lids have a concave that perfectly fits another container of the same size, which means stacking containers of same size won't have them sliding around on top of each other. That is one gripe I've had that I've never really noticed until now, containers sliding around on lids. The containers don't have air release valves but have a very thoughtfully added tab in one corner to let you easily peel off the lid. This is an extremely well made, and well designed product. I never thought so much design could go into what's essentially a glass box with plastic cap.
