Q: Can you use this on top of your mattress

It is not designed to function as a topper. With this in mind, pairing this with another mattress will not harm the integrity of the mattress. Q: Does the gel memory foam give off an odor?

Memory foam always gives off an odor. If it was manufactured recently, it will smell stronger than if it has been around a while. Also, if it was aired out before it was packaged, it will smell less. Different people will have different experiences depending on the above. The smell does not mean anything as far as quality goes. Air it out for a few days, and it will be fine.

Q: Has anyone used this for an Ikea Hemnes or Brimnes daybed where two mattresses are stacked except when the trundle part of the bed is used?

My friend has the hemnes daybed and this mattress (2 of them). She loves hers. She’s 5’7” and fairly slender. She said it was comfortable to sleep on when it was pulled out to a king so you were just sleeping on 1 mattress. I loved the look of hers so I also bought the hemnes daybed and I’m debating on getting this mattress as well. I tried a 6” one from another company and it woke me up with a sore back. I’m 5’1” and currently on the heavier side (160lbs). So my issue could be my short, heavy body. A normal sized adult with greater weight dispersal may do better.

Q: Do I need a box spring to use with this mattress if I have a platform bed?
