This stuff is great, I wish I had known about it decades ago. It really does seem to convert rust into a different substance. You're probably supposed to rinse it really well but I was using it out in the woods where I didn't have much water so I can attest that a quick swipe with a damp paper towel was enough to neutralize the surface afterwards and get primer to stick with no problem. I'll always have this stuff on hand for the rest of my life and will buy another bottle when I eventually use this one up. Top product.

Great stuff for removing gun metal blueing, or use brick acid as this is cheaper. Great for pave blocks too.

Saw this product being used on the Obsessed Garage site on YouTube, so gave it a try on the exhaust of my 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster. This car lived in Pennsylvania for it’s first eight years, was clearly driven in the winter on salted roads, and the undercarriage had rusted nuts, bolts, and the stainless-steel exhaust was coated in rust. I used this Ospho product by putting it in a spray bottle and then used “#0” (fine…but not very fine) steel wool and a couple green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scouring pads. I put some plastic sheeting on my garage floor and then put cardboard on top of the plastic and then put the exhaust on the cardboard. I spent a little over an hour each cleaning both sides of the exhaust (total of about two hours on my knees and butt on the garage floor). To clean and neutralize the acidic Ospho, I used another spray bottle with Dawn dishwashing detergent diluted in water (Dawn is alkaline and is a good acid neutralizer). I used the Dawn and some paper towels to periodically wipe off the Ospho after scrubbing…and scrubbing…and scrubbing the exhaust. Overall, the Ospho worked very well to clean the exhaust with a lot of elbow grease to make it work, and I am happy with the end result. With that said, it wasn’t hard work, but it was time consuming. The cardboard got dirty and wet as expected, and I just threw it in the trash and clean-up was easy. There were some stains on the stainless-steel exhaust that would not come out, but I tried using some sandpaper on these spots and they still didn’t come out, so the remaining stains were no fault of the Ospho. If the exhaust was regular steel and not stainless, I doubt the Ospho or anything would revive regular steel that had been exposed to winter salted roads for eight years. I included two photos: one is a before-and-after with one side of the exhaust in original condition and the other side after being cleaned with Ospho. The second photo shows both sides of the exhaust after being cleaned with Ospho.

This stuff works!!! I have had to apply it twice but it really works. You can see the progress from day 1 and then after I applied the second coat day 2. It’s getting all the rust! I followed directions. 1 sanded down the surface with a high grit & got off a lot of old paint Then applied it Rinse after full 24 hours (While wearing gloves and painted it on)
