APEC WATERESSENCE Series 50 GPD Complete Replacement Filter For Undersink System | 3 Pcs 3.5" O.D. Replacement O-Ring For Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Housings

This filter set is not compatible with the ROES-50 as advertised. The stage 5 filter included in this filter set is not compatible with the original screw on T connect included with ROES-50 system! My original ROES-50 system included F1-ES-TCR, but APEC shipped a substituted 5th stage filter F1-ES-TCR-QC iwith this replacement set. I've already spent 3 hours working on this system this evening and a few hours googling to figure out the problem. It appears I need a new connector tee for the substitution made by APEC to the 5th stage filter. My system is currently disassembled; I can't use the system or my sink or faucet. Now it looks like I'll need to contact APEC to get the new QC connector tee required to install the new type of 5th stage filter (meanwhile my kitchen and sink will be a mess and unusable!!!). I just called APEC customer service and they are of course closed. Now, I'll need to call back in the morning, and wait who knows how long for the necessary QC connector tee! THIS NEW QC CONNECTOR TEE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED WITH THIS NEW SUBSTITUTED FILTER!!! This is all very frustrating! This switch/substitution by APEC (with no mention in the product description) has cost me many, many hours of extra/wasted time, plus now many days with an unusable sink and faucet until I can get the required QC connector tee to make the required modification to the original system!). This all could have been avoided if APEC had only included the required QC connector Tee that is necessary to install the new/substituted type of 5th stage filter!!! I paid $75 for this replacement filter set; I am very disappointed in APEC's service!.UPDATE.I contacted APEC and talked to a very nice gentleman named Ken. He was able to overnight ship the QC connector tee since I had already taken apart my water system and did not have drinking water. However, the part was lost during shipping. I called back and Ken was able to overnight ship another tee and I easily installed it. Although I think this tee should be included in the set, I appreciate the good customer service.

I've had the APEC system for two years now. Their directions say to replace the first 3 stage filters every 6-12 months.After I installed the Apec system I had 12 PPM (parts per million) in my drinking water, compared to 220 from the city, a huge improvement no doubt! After two years of replacing no filters, my water tested at 14 PPM. I don't think it's necessary to replace the filters every 6-12 months for a small household (2 adults and 1 child).Long story short, I replaced all filters two years in and my water dropped to 12 PPM from 14 PPM and all is good.So why the 4 stars? Because it took me about an hour to find the wrench that came with the installation box so that I could remove the existing filters, I wish they'd just include the wrench with this filter pack, I can't imagine it costs them more than $1 to make that plastic wrench.Also, be sure to take pictures of how everything is now before you start removing water lines, when installing stage 4 and 5, it was easier for me to disconnect them completely and then reconnect it all, having pictures of the before helped a lot

Almost perfect replacement for the ROES-50 Apec reverse osmosis system. The only difference being the 5th stage filter replacement had 2 compression fittings on each end, while the old filter had a threaded end.The fix was easy, just purchase a 1/4" 3-Way Tee fitting. Use a small 3" piece of 1/4 tubing from the filter to the tee and connect the remaining lines. The pictures show the old filter with threaded tee and the new install.Other than this small issue, the filters work just like the originals.

I'm extremely disappointed. It's unusual today to have a product that is NOT WHAT IS advertised! The picture clearly shows a 3-prong T-connector on top of the stage 5 filter, but it doesn't ship with the set. I too have called Apec (closed) and will ask for the connector and for a new stage 5 filter, since I thought maybe the quick-connect was screwed into the fitting that my unit had and if I unscrewed it I could screw in the original fitting. Anyway, now my fresh water is down etc. I'm amused at the review suggesting a trip to the hardware store is nbd. REALLY? Why would you cut that much slack? DO YOU WORK FOR APEC?? The piece needed is shown in the picture! And my hardware store is 20 miles from here.This is the second time this year I got into trouble - that could have been avoided if I glanced at the reviews - so will start reading them.
