Q: What exactly do you get with "small + large" option? five of small stands and five of large stands? says "clear -10 pc", but i no details...

I did not purchase this one. I purchased the small size, which had 5 for $14. The one you want should have 5 of each size as the price is nearly double what I paid for 5. I will also tell you that these are very nice and come with a plastic cellophane covering over each one. Once you remove the covering, they are very clear and scratch-free.

Q: would this work to display a collection of 8.5"x11" photos backed on chipboard that someone could flip through?

Hi dear,if you choose a "Large Size”, this product is able to fit your 8.5 "x11" photo. But please note that the thickness of the frame should not exceed 1.5", otherwise it will not fit your photos!
