Tough, precise, and site-ready—Stabila 96-2-120 delivers pro-grade levelling with zero compromise.
📏 Stabila 96-2-120 Spirit Level – Full Review This level is part of Stabila’s 96-2 series, designed for heavy-duty construction and civil engineering. At 122cm (48in), it’s ideal for foundation checks, kerb alignment, shuttering, and ducting setups. The extra-strong ribbed aluminium profile resists flex and impact, while the locked vial system ensures long-term accuracy—even after drops or knocks. You get: 3 vials: 1 horizontal + 2 vertical Accuracy: ±0.5mm/m in normal position, ±0.75mm/m overhead Removable end caps with anti-slip stops—flush fitting and one-handed marking Two measuring surfaces—machined for precision (on levels up to 120cm) Shock-absorbing build—ideal for harsh site conditions Vial guarantee: 10 years of accuracy It’s built for reliability and speed, with gripping ridges for secure handling and a bright yellow finish for visibility in low light or cluttered setups. ✅ Pros Ultra-rigid aluminium frame—no flex under pressure 3 vials—quick readings in any orientation Removable end caps—flush work and easy marking Anti-slip stops—stable on surfaces 10-year vial accuracy guarantee High visibility—bright yellow finish Trusted brand—Stabila’s reputation for precision ❌ Cons No magnetic edge—less ideal for steelwork Slightly heavier than plastic alternatives (1.2kg)3 No milled surfaces on longer versions (over 120cm)2 🧠 Personal Verdict This level’s a proper workhorse. I’ve used similar models for drainage layouts, pad prep, and kerb runs, and they hold up—accurate, tough, and easy to read. The dual vertical vials are a win for quick checks, and the anti-slip caps make solo marking a breeze. For around £70–£85, it’s a solid investment for any groundworker who values precision and durability.

Best tool in my garage
Best DIY tool I’ve purchased! Anyone who does DIY from hanging pictures to laying slabs or building walls, needs one of these. Sturdy, accurate and the rubber ends means that it doesn’t slip easily, making it easy to use.
