Paired with a solid sub, this is a GREAT head unit!
I'm very picky, and I've owned a number of top-shelf car audio systems over the years. I've also been in the camp that would NEVER install a BOSS product in my car, because they have a reputation for being trash. Having said that, I rolled the dice on the SSL SDML10ACP because it looked like exactly what I wanted. I went with the SSL version because I couldn't bear to see the BOSS logo at anything in my beautifully fully restored pride and joy open-air Jeep TJ.THIS THING ROCKS!!!Coupled with four Kicker CS Speakers and a Kicker 11HS8 sub under the driver's seat, this is hands-down the best car audio system I have ever owned for probably ever hear, even at car shows. It is perfect.Or nearly perfect, as the CarPlay is wired, rather than wireless. So I added a CarlinKit v3 wired to wireless CarPlay adapter, and that rounds it out really, really well.I LOVE this system, and get lots of compliments on it. It's been reliable so far for over a year, and came with a 3 year warranty. I would have been happy paying a much higher price-tag, but at this price it is not only the best head unit of it's kind on the market, it's a remarkable value for the money as well.Yes, it's made by BOSS, but thankfully you can buy it with an SSL logo on it. :)

Amazing quality
Nice heavy duty screen, very nice video quality too. I ordered the last 10” version, very big screen. I love the apple carplay interface, has plenty of audio ports in back and the sound quality from this radio is far superior than my stock system. Reverse camera setup is flawless. Only thing i wish i knew was that if you want bluetooth apple carplay you have to buy a apple carplay usb to plug into the back of the radio. Otherwise you can plug a regular usb charging cord into the carplay plug located in back of radio, remove your factory aux port and run charging cord through it since your aux port will be useless with this radio anyway.

Touch screen is perfect, no issues. Boot time is great as well
((Biggest negatives are touch response and boot time from reviews)).~ I HAD NEITHER OF THESE ISSUES, It boots quick and ZERO issues with touch response.I used an aftermarket camera flush mount, picture quality isnt the best and I dont know if it is the camera or head unit? Haven't trouble shooted, not too big of a concern.Super happy with the unit for the price, I dont think you can beat it. I think the best thing about it is the fact its designed for US use so the interface is more friendly. They straight from China units tend to have compatibility or design flaws(looked and watched tons of reviews). For slightly more then China but far less then Big name its a perfect Eco Unit!

Not a "complete" Android device
I must admit that I'm pretty disappointed in the available features. When I think of an Android device, I picture just that - an android device where I can use freely, installing apps from the play store etc. Perhaps I was spoiled from my previous unit, but this is strictly a car stereo- NOT a tablet style device. These were my gripes:*Limited functionality compared to your phone/tablet*Does not use native apps or allow connection to a mobile Hotspot, forced to link via Bluetooth or Android auto for audio playback (as opposed to installing Spotify or YouTube onto the device)*Even when connected to phone, app usage is limited. However, if none of that is a concern, as a stripped feature unit it does the job well. Touch screen is responsive and bright, EQ is responsive and easily accessible, and installation was fairly straightforward with easy to read documentation. Screen has great range in adjustment and can be removed for security. For most, this unit will do great. However, I need more than what it offers. Now if I could only remember the exact one that got stolen...

Not worth the money
Stopped working after 4 monthsI have now called ssl three different times to try and warranty out my head unit, and the first time they were gonna email me the information I need to register and warranty my unit, and they sent me nothing. The second time I called them they told me i needed to get on there website and register my unit before they would do anything. The third time after I registered my unit, they told me they would email me a shipping label so I could send them the unit so they could see what was wrong with it, and again never got any emails from them. So the customer service works about as good as the unit does. Now after the 4th phone call to the manufacturer, I finally got a shipping label to send it in so they can verify there is a problem with the unit. So now I’m waiting to hear what the response is. I will up date when I have the response. It took about a week and a half, I didn’t get any information back from them other then it was shipping back to me. I opened the box, and they did end up giving me a whole new unit. So it took some hoops, but they did end up working with me.

Works great. Sounds good. I would buy again.
I haven't had any issues in my 2006 ram 1500. Screen looks just as good as the stock screen in my wife's car. No problems with the android auto so far. Hooking it up did have a few challenges but I was able to work through them pretty easy.

Big an easy to see but to bright at night!
So for a budget build this this is pretty neat so far. The screen is huge and pretty easy to install if you have ever done any aftermarket installs its pretty straight forward. My only real issue is the screen is so big that it lights up the cab way too much at night when your driving it’s a huge blinding light in your face. I turned the brightness and adjusted the screen as low as possible but in the end i have to turn it away to be able to drive. I believe a simple update to be able to future lower the brightness would be a simple solution but i don’t see that happening.
