I teach Pre-K to kids with special needs, in public school. I've bought quite a few "hand2mind" brand things, and have found they hold up pretty well. Nothing lasts forever, of course.The two things that made me choose these particular magnet wands instead of the other brands are:1) I know the brand, and it's generally good quality.2) These wands have rounded edges, rather than sharp corners. Despite all that any of us does, once in a while, a student throws an object or hits someone with it. So whenever possible, I look for rounded corners on anything with a handle, as that adds just a tiny bit more safety.Additionally, the size of these wands is not a risk for swallowing magnets, but I don't leave these accessable at all times. I am unsure if they were to crack, perhaps the magnet inside could be swallowed? Magnets get treated with the same respect and supervised access, similar to scissors and paint. They are awesome, but require more adult support and supervision for safe and appropriate use.

I bought these and my students use them with magnetic chips to sound out words. We place a chip under each sound and then use the magnetic wand to sound out each part. We also use them for math to practice counting. This is by far my students favorite small group item to use.

I purchased this because I misplaced one I had. I had used that one to teach my 7 year old grandson how to pull iron from sand. He got so excited that's all he did for about half an hour. When he came over a few months later he asked for the magnet but I couldn't find it. A couple of months ago when he came over (he's 9 now) I told him I bought a bunch of magnets. He started pulling more iron from the dirt and we fill 1/2 of a medicine bottle with it. I showed him how to make the iron "dance" and what happens when you try to put to like poles together. I learned something too. Sand usually has small pebbles. I found out that some of them are magnetic!

These were among the more cost effective magnet wands I came across in my search. They are excellent quality and a very strong magnet. We have used them to move magnets inside of a plastic bin/rain gutter, and the magnet is strong enough to pull the magnets on the other side of the plastic, even a couple inches away from the plastic. I operate an in-home child care program consisting of 8 young children, and these are holding up well with regular use.

I bought these for my daycare. I feel that the handles are not super thick and could break very easily. I do not leave these out for children all day long due to being fearful they will be dropped and broken.The colors are bright and the magnets are strong.

...learn about magnets and have some fun while I cook dinner. We gave out a few to their friends as a valentine gift. It works for fun entertainment and is a sturdy and quality product. The magnet is VERY strong and the plastic surrounding it is sturdy.

These are strong magnets and great for my grandson. He likes to carry them and put them on appliances, Durable enough to last and we will be able to use them for learning other things as he ages.
