Acclaim87BK Mariner Collection 1-Light Post Mount Outdoor Light Fixture, Matte Black

My previous yard lights were made of a very inferior metal that began to crumble, and the flat glass plates caught the wind, resulting in destruction.. The Acclaim 87B Mariner is made of tough, somewhat flexible plastic which I think will last longer. Further, the circular structure will tend to let the wind and rain flow around it, and the one-piece cap will better protect the bulb and the electrical connections.Before installing I painted the lamp with inexpensive white spray paint from the hardware store, and it took without any problems.The plastic - and remember that this is good, sturdy stuff - made fitting the base over the old, much-painted post easy.The vanes shine the light down, illuminating the yard but avoiding a glare.This is a great product. I had to replace my yard light, which was old and had gotten damaged. Several of my neighbors have this light, and I like the clean, contemporary style. It probably does not put out as much light as some other styles. It is made of somewhat thin, cheap plastic. It probably won’t hold up that long in the Florida heat, but it is okay for the price. I am a older female with not much handyman experience, but was able to follow the instructions for installation, only took about 20 minutes to complete.

Bought a customer return from Amazon. Great price but as you see the color of this was supposed to be black, well they sent me the bronze. Wasnt worth the effort and time to return so i bought a can of black spray paint. incompetence.

Replacing an aging 60s post light with candelabra bulbs. Fit easily over standard post light pole, normal electrical attachments. The entire light is a stiff plastic which isn't typically what I'd purchase but the price was right. The top and lens are easy to get on and off making switching light bulbs very easy - I put in a regular 60W equivalent LED and get good light thrown down and around but not up. It looks very modern, tasteful and you can't tell its cheap plastic unless you're up close. Overall a great upgrade to our front entryway.
