High quality, easy to put together, worth the money.
I researched a mobile kitchen island/ coffee cart for awhile before deciding to go with this one! The reviews all seemed really good, so I said why not: the reviews didnโt lie! First, the quality of this cart is great. It isnโt made of cheap, flimsy particle board. Each piece, even the backing, is heavy and sturdy. The top is a heavy piece of wood thatโs been finished with a waterproofing that keeps it from getting water rings or stains which I love. It was easy enough to put together that I did it ~mostly~ alone within two hours. My husband had to help with the metal locking mechanisms because those were a little tough to get fully closed but, I know each piece is actually secure in place thanks to those. This is a quality piece of furniture for the price- less than $300 for the black cart. I would highly recommend and Iโll definitely be buying from this brand as long as itโs made by the same manufacturer! No missing parts, great size & ample storage. I will say, I was hoping to put my kitchen aide in the cabinets but the shelving is too short to fit the kitchen aide with both shelves installed. But thereโs plenty of room for it on top! High duality wheels, rolls well and the leaf will be really nice to have when we have family gatherings! Truly surprised it turned out to be so nice coming from Amazon!!

As good as it gets
When you consider size, storage options, functionality, price, ease of assembly and sturdiness, this kitchen cart checks off all the lists and is a perfect option for small kitchens (like mine) or large kitchens alike. It took about 2-3 hours to assemble but it was not difficult at all and the instructions were pretty self explanatory and I had no difficulty putting it together myself. The wood top can be used as counter space, cutting (with a cutting board) or baking board. The cabinet doors are just the right size with enough space inside to fit a bunch of pantry items along with some medium to some larger size appliance when not in use. I the folding leaf is great and very sturdy and gives you the space if more counter space is needed or if you need another dining table using bar stools. The drawers are just the right size where you can put a lot of things it it but not so much where things get lost. The paper towel roll is great and you can hang a cloth kitchen towel and the spice rack can also be used for other things. The caster wheels roll easily and 2 can be locked as needed. (Make sure you put the locking ones toward the front of the product). This is exactly what I needed and, as a product, this is good as it gets. Note: There were some dings (see pictures) in the shipping, which I didn't reflect in my rating because how can a product and the manufacturer be responsible for the shipping? The packaging looked sufficient but I don't think the shippers handled with much care as the box had dents and even a couple of holes in it. As such there were some nicks that didn't affect the looks (all inside) or the functionality except for one thing. One of the drawers wheels was cracked (had plenty of packing on it - I blame the shippers on this) and I used gorilla bonding glue to keep it sturdy. It doesn't roll quite as smooth as the other drawers but still better then other ones in my kitchen.

Awesome addition to any kitchen
We love this cart! This has helped to add much needed storage and counter space to our new kitchen:) I knocked off a star though because the hinge on the left door has something wrong with it. The defect makes it so that I have to lift the door ever so slightly for it to close all the way without any resistance. This is a little disheartening because we spent a decent amount of money on this. Other than that though everything else is great! Assembly was not hard at all (the latch points can be hard to press down fully, but we managed). I think this took us about 5 hours in total to assemble, but we took our time with it. I would definitely recommend doing the assembly by hand like the instructions say. The instructions are also easy to follow and we appreciated how well everything was clearly labeled. The unit was packed well too, so nothing was damaged during shipping! I lined the drawers and shelves with shelf liner, and I added bumpers to the backside of the drawer fronts to help keep the finish nice. We plan to get some stools for it further down the line as well to have as additional seating when needed. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase so far!

Itโs a great buy!!!
very durable fits inside my apartment. Itโs still a large piece of furniture, but it does look very good in my apartment. I like all of the functions. Mine is very even my drawers are not lopsided. Everything is very good. There was only one piece of wood that was chipped, but no one can see it because itโs inside and it doesnโt matter. Itโs fine. Thatโs the only thing that was negative about this. Iโve been waiting for this piece of furniture to complete my apartment. The material is pretty good. The wheels are very easy locking and moving around is very easy. It moves very gracefully. Iโm a woman and I built it by myself. It was slightly challenging, and I had to use another table to leave but I got the job done. The only thing that I do not like is the locking mechanisms inside it was new to me. I had to use pliers and a hammer to actually get it down to lock!

Excellent Product
I just bought and assembled this, on the basis of numerous 4- and 5-star reviews. They are all truthful, and I was very pleasantly surprised that a low-priced item like this was so well designed and uncomplicated to assemble. Mind you, except for the top, this isn't real wood, so you get what you pay for, but the finished product looks very nice and serves its purpose well. The delivery time quoted to me was five days; I got the box in two, which ruined my weekend plans. The model I received is an updated version of what other here have purchased previously. Homestyles has apparently stopped using cam locks for their assembled furniture; what's used on this model are "flip locks," which serve the same purpose as cam locks but are pre-embedded in the parts and simpler to use (see below for more on this). Also noteworthy is that previous complaints about how the drawers go together have been resolved; I found this bit foolproof and simple. It's pretty evident that Homestyles has paid attention to consumer comments here and elsewhere about design issues and have made modifications to the assembly of this product. I'm handy and own lots of tools, so I didn't anticipate any problems; really, this is a simple build for anyone. Directions are very clear and easy to follow. Homestyles says you only need a Philips screwdriver, which is not quite true. If that's all you've got, OK. But a power drill, Philips head bits, a small hammer, a rubber mallet, and a drift punch set are very useful if you have access to them. Some buyers here have complained about the styrofoam packaging, and they're right. But, if you use the top half of the box for waste and use care in removing pieces, you shouldn't encounter "styro-snow." If you do, a roll of packing tape will collect the nasty errant pieces quickly. Several people have complained about off-gassing odor during and after completion, and they're completely right. If you're fragrance-sensitive or get migraines, the smell will bother you. The odor is sharp and pungent, so get ready for several days of discomfort. Before assembly I wiped all the parts off with Clorox wipes. That helped in the near-term, but after assembly an unpleasant odor returned and didn't dissipate for some time. Off-gassing is a fact of life these days, and we had to open a window and keep a fan running in the room where we assembled the piece for 36 hours before the odor dissipated. Even then, however, a week later there's still a discernable odor. Keep a window open as long as you can. NOTES ON ASSEMBLY: You'll want a power drill or electric screwdriver for driving screws, especially when you get to the drawers. The directions say you can't use 18V or over, which makes no sense to me. I've got a DeWalt 20V set and had no problems using it. Just set the torque fairly low and you'll be okay. However, don't try to tighten screws with the drill; do that by hand. A hammer and drift punch are needed to tighten the flip locks. Believe me, you'll want to use these to get the locks set properly and tightly. There are some narrow spaces to work in, and here the punch will come in very handy. You might need to use a rubber mallet when positioning the back panels to the side panels (step 4); they don't fit well and need a good smack to get them to fit. Just be careful; you're working with MDF. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a straight hex key (not L-shaped) was included in the bag of hardware, which I could attach directly to my drill and use to quickly screw in several hex screws. This was really great. There are no major issues in assembly, but I noted a few hiccups. The back uprights (step 4) don't attach to the length of the base; a couple of screws are needed to stabilize for future use. Pieces W and I in step 8 don't attach laterally; they'll need to be strengthened to resist twisting, even after the top is put in place. I'm not satisfied with the operation of the casters, and they don't lock very well. It would be nice if Homestyles offered an option to attach a 3 or 4-inch skirted base that could be attached in place of the casters. I could probably make this myself, but I'm just not in the mood. Generally speaking, this was an uncomplicated, 4-hour build. All parts are identified, there's some extra hardware, and aside from the off-gassing odor there's nothing unpleasant about this. I'm looking forward to using it.

LOVE my new kitchen cart...great value!
My kitchen cart came and was exactly like described. I ordered the black one, which looks great with the light wood countertop; it is a nice contrast. I bought it to use as an island, replacing my current kitchen table, which is square. So, I am using the breakfast bar with two bar stools that I already own to have seating in the kitchen. The rectangular design fits much better than the square table, gives me extra counter space (it is the same height as my counter) and you can't beat having the extra storage space as well. I was a little worried about damage to the island since both ends of the box were torn, but it is very well packed with packing material protecting each end so their was no damage to the pieces inside. Box is oversized and very heavy, so you will need a second person to help bring it into the house. Instructions were very clear. Parts were very well labeled, including the hardware. I saw some earlier reviews that said the hardware wasn't well marked, but they must have corrected that issue, because everything they gave me was clearly labeled and there was no doubt as to what I should use and when. I assembled by myself using hand tools and it took 4 hours...taking my time to make sure I was doing it right and making sure each piece was properly aligned. But, two people with power tools could probably assemble it within 2 hours. For instance, it would have been nice to have someone assembling the 3 drawers while I worked on the main unit. Plus, an extra person would make lining up the pieces easier. Just be careful with your pieces during assembly and keep something between each piece of wood to avoid scraping one panel with another. I used the packing material it came with to separate them and it worked well. Based upon some of the reviews, some people had issues with the finished product, but after final assembly, my unit looks exactly like the one pictured. the doors are even and stay closed with the magnetic latches, and the drawers line up perfectly, opening and closing smoothly. Also, the bar is even with the top when in place. I am guessing that some people may have had issues, because they may not have lined up pieces properly during assembly. For instance, someone showed a picture of a crooked drawer, but that may have been caused by not properly sliding the drawer into the sliding strip of the drawer, because when I first slid my drawer in, I missed the strip and the drawer was crooked until I pulled it out again and realigned it. Overall, this product is much nicer than the $285 price I paid for it. I have no complaints! Swapping my table out for this cart has made my kitchen 10x nicer and much more functional. I wish I have done this much sooner.

I'm very excited about this new addition to my kitchen
I was worried when the box arrived, because it looked like it hadn't been handled gently. Upon opening the box, the foam packaging was smashed up pretty brutally, and I figured this thing was doomed. Nope. Nothing was broken. The two shelves each have scuff marks on one side, but that side is down, and it's not even worth dragging out my phone to take a picture. One of the back panels and the inside of one of the drawers had minor nicks, but nothing ended up visible in the finished product. The packaging did its job! This item was fairly complicated to assemble, and I had to go digging through the packing to find a missing piece. I took my sweet time, doing everything to the highest standard possible, and using glue to reinforce the drawers and various dowels. I think I spent four hours on it, including the time I spent cleaning and dusting every little piece inside and out. It's a very nice looking unit, and I wanted to let it look its very best. (I got the black one, incidentally.) I struggled with the flip lock fasteners. I eventually discovered that a flat-blade screwdriver could be used as a lever to give these thing at a little extra push. One of the flip locks was mounted crooked, and the top would not go on. In my attempt to adjust it, I broke a chunk of plastic out of it. It seems to be holding just fine, and the construction, overall, seems really sturdy. The shelf brackets that came with this unit fit very well, and they're nicer than average. The shelves are easy to adjust, and sturdy. The drawers aren't constructed all that well, but as inexpensive drawers go, these are better than average. They have thick bottoms, and feel quite solid. The leaf on the back fits really well, and the leaf supports on the back have a positive lock with just a little spring tension provided by stretching a metal hinge to its limit. It was clearly engineered that way, and it feels like a really nice, solid design. The leaf won't support much weight, but it sits up flush and level, providing a larger top with no seam that will bother you. This is a big deal to me, because my previous kitchen island had a droopy leaf that used to drive me nuts. I think this is a really good looking unit, and I am already in love with it. I moved everything over from my old kitchen island, and I have two empty drawers, and have only used about 3/4 of my shelf space. I have new options that I didn't have before, and this unit is so much more attractive. I like how everything is closed. My old island had open shelves on one side, and they were constantly collecting dust and dog hair stuck in a film of kitchen grease. I cook in my kitchen. Grease aerosolizes and forms a film on things, which I have to go scrub off periodically. That's just life. So having everything inside closed doors and closed drawers should really help with maintenance. I imagine it will be possible to get this unit really sparkling squeaky clean. In the quibbles department, the worst thing I can say about this is that there was too much wood filler in one part of the top. This kind of construction is typical of furniture at this price point. The top is made of a bunch of random scraps that have been machined with a special joint that has a lot of glue area, then the whole thing was glued into a big panel. Wood glue is stronger than natural lignin, and this kind of construction is solid. It's a good way to make a big panel out of scrap, and it looks nice enough for the money. (A proper butcher block top would probably cost as much as this entire unit.) The problem is they go over these glued up constructs with wood filler, then they machine it all down to finished dimension. Where the individual scrap boards were a little thinner, you end up with visible wood filler once it's all said and done. It's really unfortunate when this wood filler shows up on the top layer of a piece, and that was the case here. It's not the worst I've seen, but it's a minor quibble. That's pretty much it for quibbling. I'm very excited about this new addition to my kitchen. I've been shopping for a new island for years, and I never thought to try shopping online before. It worked out very well. I am very happy with this purchase! Especially since I snagged a deal and got it at a really good price for the holidays. Even at full price, I think it would still be a five star unit. For flat pack furniture, this is pretty good. I expect it will last for years.

Very well constructed and easy ro assemble.
Very well constructed. All parts and pieces marked for easy assembly even the screws. Used screws not finish nails for a sturdier build. We painted our kitchen cupboards antique white and this was very close to match being of white. We painted the knobs black to match but not shown on rhe island as were not dry yet. We are very impressed with this and the ease of putting it together. Will definitely tell others.

I'm impressed!
I must say, usually these knock down type pieces are furniture are a pain to put together but this kitchen island was the easiest ever! The unit was carefully packed, not one scratch on it. every piece was labeled correctly. Every hole lined up properly and after assembly it is so very sturdy! I'm not sure what units some of these reviews are talking about though. It was childs play! Only reason why I gave it a 4.5 rating is that it was all in one box and this old lady had a hell of a time getting it from point a to point b. Thank you HomeSense and thank you Amazon! Well worth the money! Perfect for our Cabin!
