Q: Are window panels made of glass or plastic?

Everything is plastic. Doesn’t give off a lot of light but if you already have some other deck lighting it will add to it. Cute item, slightly over priced in my opinion

Q: If I wanted to use these on a picnic table would they be bright enough to see our food while eating?

The light from these is about like a candle...not a high level of lumens. To answer you question, I’d say it would depend on how many of these lanterns you use at your picnic table...and how big that table is. For a table of 4 or 5 people they might work okay.

Q: Can the battery inside be replaced with a standard aa battery or does it need to be a rechargeable battery only?
