Both outlets can be controlled separately, which lets me run different schedules without everything being tied together. Setup was a little odd, the Tapo app wouldn’t add it at first, so I used the older Kasa app to pair it. Once connected, it synced into Tapo automatically and has worked perfectly since. I deleted the Kasa app afterward and haven’t needed it again. It fits inside a small waterproof outdoor box with no issues, and scheduling has been completely reliable. No disconnects, no missed automations. If you’ve had outdoor plugs that constantly drop connection, this is a big improvement.

I am incredibly impressed with the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug. I needed a reliable way to automate some of my exterior lighting, and this dual-socket outlet has been the perfect solution. The setup was quick and straightforward, connecting to my Wi-Fi without any of the syncing issues I have experienced with other brands. The build quality feels very durable and truly weather-resistant, which is essential for handling rain and temperature shifts. Having two independently controllable sockets is a huge plus, allowing me to set different schedules for my string lights and a decorative fountain. The app interface is intuitive, and the voice control integration works flawlessly every time. It is a solid, well-made device that has made managing my outdoor space much more convenient. This thing just works. I mean, every time. The app is easy to use and, above all, easy to set up. I had it running in just a couple minutes. I don’t understand why other manufacturers can do this. I had purchased another wi-fi plug a week earlier (BN Something) and I spent an hour trying to get it to work with my WiFi to no avail. Looking into it, I think it might have been due to my dual band router which runs 2.4ghz and 5ghz. That product—and this one—are both stated to only work on 2.4ghz. Whatever. I’m not a big techie, so I don’t know the details, all I know is that the Kasa plug didn’t give a crap. My system recognized it instantly and it was a breeze from there. I’ve been using it for a few weeks to operate a back patio fountain and it never fails. Even my low tech wife who thought my WiFi controlled fountain idea was silly is now converted. I installed the app on her phone and signed in using my info. Viola! It worked for her in about a minute. Now she’s hooked. I even got an apology, which is a whole different subject. Another plus with this WiFi outlet over the other one is that each of the two outlets can operate separately to run two different things. I’m still trying to figure out what to hook up to the second one—maybe my bug zapper or something. Again, the app is easy to use to do this. Pick a button and press. If you’re on the fence deciding which Wi-Fi plug to buy, get off of it and choose this one. Kudos to Kasa for designing a product that does exactly what it’s supposed to with no aggravation. I would absolutely purchase again and probably will.

Received and set up the dual plug outdoor device. The dual plugs are independently controlled by the app which is awesome. Quality construction with weather protecting caps affixed to each of the plugs. My particular application is on a patio which is covered, thus not much concern of water ingress into the device. One plug is used to energize a heated pet bed, the other to turn on electrical tracing for a water line during cold weather. The app enables one to actuate the particular outlet from a smart phone, set a timer for turning on/off, and set a comprehensive schedule for activating each plug independently. The device was easy to set up by following the enclosed direction. One step was a bit confusing. After selecting the WiFi signal transmitted from the device, the next step gives an option of "already connected". Select that option, as it means that the phone is already connected to the WiFi signal transmitted from the device. When selecting that option, the phone will continue to set up the device and when finished ask for the name of the device to use in the app. The entire process took about three minutes to complete. Make sure that you are setting the device up in a strong WiFi signal area as it expedites the set-up process.

The dual socket design is a practical feature that maximizes the usefulness of a single outdoor outlet, and the IP64 weather resistance gives confidence for outdoor RV use where exposure to dust, rain, and varying conditions is a regular reality. The Wi-Fi connectivity works reliably without requiring a separate hub, and the compatibility with Alexa and Google Home makes voice control and smart home automation integration seamless and straightforward. The ETL certification adds peace of mind for outdoor electrical use, and the app control through the Kasa platform is intuitive and easy to set up even for less tech-savvy users. For controlling outdoor lights, fans, or accessories around the RV campsite remotely from a phone or through voice commands, it works exactly as expected and adds a genuine convenience factor to outdoor living. The reason I'm holding back a star is that Wi-Fi connectivity at campgrounds and remote locations can be inconsistent, which limits the smart functionality in some of the places RVs typically end up. That said, when connected it performs reliably and the build quality holds up well to outdoor use. A practical and versatile smart plug for RV and outdoor applications. Recommended.

I realized its not easy to find an outdoor smart plug that has individual control of the outlets! What a headache that was, & lots of searching to find this! Luckily I did & its perfect! I do wish that the cord came in more options as far as length and also that it wasn't SO thick! But I made it work & am happy with my results. I needed to be able to turn on my outside string lights on my phone vs having to plug/unplug them everytime I went outside. Now I can control all that from my phone & even have it on a schedule which is even better!! (: I did think it said I could use them 'smart life' app & was a bit disappointed to see it only showed the 'kasa' app on the setup directions (another app to add to my smart home folder in my phone :/ lol). No big deal though, im just happy to of found this, that it has individual control of the outlets and that it seems to work great so far! Every/anything else i can work around. I also like that it has little covers for the plug(s) not in use. Bit flimsy & thin but still work & better than nothing I think considering its outside. Where I have mine- my porch rarely ever gets water that far back so im not worried about it getting wet or anything but I still just like the option & that the covers are there. I definitely recommend. So far its been great, its been about a week almost 2 now. Im very happy with it & it works as expected. Cord is pretty thick & short but aside from that, its great! & it seems to be slim pickings anyways as I mentioned above so considering that as well.. this thing is awesome! Very happy! Very easy to set up & maneuver the app which is a big plus as well!! (

Kasa’s smart home products are among the best in the industry. It is evident that a lot of time and effort is pit in to the design, development and testing of their products, as well as the Kasa app (note: we are using the iOS version of their app). It is utterly offensive when you purchase an amazing product and find that the company has put little-to-no effort in to their app. I'm happy to report that the Kasa developers have not let anyone down in this regard. Each of the Kasa products we own has been reliable and have never once failed us, and we’ve had several outlets in our home for ~12 years now. They are easy to setup and configure. They always (and I mean always!) stay online, and they reconnect after power outages without having to reset everything. They also integrate well with the most common home assistants like Alexa, Google, and IFTTT. Having the ability to group them in to categories and/or rooms allows you to synchronize the behavior of multiple devices. After the initial setup we used the included wire holders and screws (they also provide a wall anchor in each package for stone/concrete) to mount them under the waterproof receptacles in a downward-facing orientation (** Important: you MUST keep the sockets facing down to keep everything waterproof **). We have both of the outlets configured in a “Holiday Lighting” group, along with several other interior Kasa smart outlets. They’re scheduled to go on at sundown and off when we go to bed at night. They behave exactly as expected. Perhaps the only complaint we have has to do with the plug head. It is vertically oriented, which is the normal/expected configuration. However, if your receptacle is horizontally oriented it can be difficult to plug the socket in and close the cover on your [in-use] waterproof receptacle cover. This ended up being a minor issue for us, but we ended up making it work. Only we had to sacrifice access to the second outlet on the receptacle to do so. If Kasa made this with a rotating plug head you could orient it horizontally or vertically and avoid this altogether.

I had tried a number of different options for my christmas lights, including one with a remote, some with timers, light based,... This was a bit more costly but the most effective option. Can directly control with my phone or program (pretty intuitive, say what time you want stuff to turn on/off). I like to have light on when kids get up in the morning, off once they are at school, and on again by the time they come back from school. And back off when i go to bed. Easy to setup something like this with this thing.

Item came and works great!

I am very impressed with this product. It is well made and the app is easy to use, once you've gone through the installation process. (We are using the Kasa app.) I appreciated that the instructions packed in the box were brief and to the point, not endless pages of meaningless safety warnings and disclaimers. I would definitely buy again.

Funciona perfectamente con Google Home, compré dos de otra marca dos y los deseché por descompostura; este sigue funcionando hasta hoy, actualizaré en caso de alguna falla temprana.
