I am incredibly impressed with the Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug. I needed a reliable way to automate some of my exterior lighting, and this dual-socket outlet has been the perfect solution. The setup was quick and straightforward, connecting to my Wi-Fi without any of the syncing issues I have experienced with other brands. The build quality feels very durable and truly weather-resistant, which is essential for handling rain and temperature shifts. Having two independently controllable sockets is a huge plus, allowing me to set different schedules for my string lights and a decorative fountain. The app interface is intuitive, and the voice control integration works flawlessly every time. It is a solid, well-made device that has made managing my outdoor space much more convenient. Highly recommended!

I had tried a number of different options for my christmas lights, including one with a remote, some with timers, light based,... This was a bit more costly but the most effective option. Can directly control with my phone or program (pretty intuitive, say what time you want stuff to turn on/off). I like to have light on when kids get up in the morning, off once they are at school, and on again by the time they come back from school. And back off when i go to bed. Easy to setup something like this with this thing.

I’ve been using these outdoor smart plugs to automate my outdoor grow lights and fans, and they’ve worked great. The scheduling feature is reliable, turning everything on and off exactly when it’s supposed to without any issues. Setup was quick through the app, and the Wi-Fi connection has remained stable. The weather-resistant design also gives me confidence using them outdoors.

We have a heater that we put in our bird bath in the winter to keep it from freezing. It is plugged in an outdoor electrical socket and we need to unplug it when the temperature gets above freezing. This smart power plug allows us to power the heater on and off, from anywhere. We could be in another state and control this outlet. This device has two outlets, with each being able to be controlled separately, so we have room for expansion if we have a second device to power on/off. I really like that this device also has a switch on it so you can power the outlet on or off manually if you are nearby and aren't carrying your phone. The remote software easily installs on your phone and setup of the device is very straightforward. I also like that each outlet has a green led so you can see visibly if the outlet is on or off. I also like that this device is weather resistant, although I have mine in a somewhat protected area. I don't know that i would want this someplace it could get rained on with only IP64 weather resistance. That means it is protected from "splashes" of water only. I am very happy with this device!

This smart plug has worked really well for outdoor lights and decorations. Setup through the Kasa app was quick, and it connected to Wi‑Fi without any problems. I like that it has two separate outlets, so I can control different devices individually. The scheduling and timer features are super convenient.

Both outlets can be controlled separately, which lets me run different schedules without everything being tied together. Setup was a little odd, the Tapo app wouldn’t add it at first, so I used the older Kasa app to pair it. Once connected, it synced into Tapo automatically and has worked perfectly since. I deleted the Kasa app afterward and haven’t needed it again. It fits inside a small waterproof outdoor box with no issues, and scheduling has been completely reliable. No disconnects, no missed automations. If you’ve had outdoor plugs that constantly drop connection, this is a big improvement.

Work great. I had a fountain and outside light plugged into a panel that was control by another remote switch which turned them on together. Now I can turn them on separately in my app or just tell Alexa by voice. Also, very easy setup.

Update (12/11/23): Found there is a newer version of the single wall plug, which offers energy monitoring capability. The newer model is KP115, released in Oct 2020; whereas the older model is HS103P2, released in March 2018. The newer plugs are more expensive, but I would pay the extra cost for the energy monitoring feature if needed. One of the two white single plugs was DOA (dead on arrival), so I took the opportunity to open it up and inspect the internals. The 2-plug outdoor one worked fine. Initial Problem: The issue with one of them was the relay would click, but plug would not pass power. This occurred with both the physical power switch, and through the app; so the control circuit was ok, but the power circuit was defective. Observations (construction): Like most modern manufactured items, this one is a snap together setup, and once I figured out where the tabs were, disassembly was fairly straight forward (I will not be providing a step by step on how to open them). The construction is decent. The relay is a 200V and 16A version, and should be able to pass full power (1875W for a 15A circuit). However, I would not push the power limit as fire could ensue. Software Setup: After downloading the app (iPhone), setup was straight forward. It appears to only connect to a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network; however, with my phone on the 5GHz network, I was still able to control the device. Generally 2.4GHz has better range, and 5GHz has better bandwidth, so 2.4Ghz is the appropriate band for this device (and most IoT devices). Upon completion of setup, the app offered to update the firmware (which completed in less than 5 minutes). Setup was the same for both (the outdoor didn't need a firmware update). Pros: simple setup; firmware updates. Cons: 1 of 2 DOA. Conclusion: At $13 for two, rating this 3-stars (-2 for the DOA, otherwise this would have been 5-stars). Item came and works great!

Ya he comprado previamente algunos productos Kasa, focos solamente y son una excelente opción, en esta ocasión necesitaba un smartplug para exteriores y me decidí por este, realmente creo que es una opción bastante accesible, la calidad de materiales es buena, su construcción se ve robusta, si creo la presunción de que sea para exteriores. Además la configuración fue extremadamente sencilla, no es necesario ningún hub, ya que basta abrir la aplicación y en pocos minutos está listo. Sin lugar a dudas una buena opción para exteriores.

I am very impressed with this product. It is well made and the app is easy to use, once you've gone through the installation process. (We are using the Kasa app.) I appreciated that the instructions packed in the box were brief and to the point, not endless pages of meaningless safety warnings and disclaimers. I would definitely buy again.
