Excellent product with quality flavor, color, and texture. The lentils were very clean - still needed to be rinsed, but I haven't seen any debris yet! The pricing is a great bargain for this quality of product, we will be buying all of our lentils from these folks in the future!

I have been very happy with the taste and quality of my previous orders of golden and beluga (black) lentils. I haven't had a chance to taste the red split lentils yet but have no reason to believe they won't be just as delicious. My only problem with my order was the box it was shipped in. It was split open on one side and the bag of lentils was exposed. My previous orders came in sturdier boxes with no problems. Also, there needs to be a warning on the box to use care in opening as a box knife can easily split open the bagged lentils.

I cook some curry, using baharat from Simply Organic, and I’m very happy with the final result! I’m happy about the delivery too… flawless. My bag was inside a box from the company, and then the Amazon box. I’m dividing the lentils in plastic bags, to protect them from the humidity etc. I’m very happy that I ordered from this company the 25 pounds. The dish that I’m still eating…is very creamy, with a wonderful color. I added some ghee and coconut milk, and I believe that the great results are thanks to the great quality of this product in particular. The lentils creamed completely, didn’t added any coconut sugar because of the carrots that I used. Or maybe they were fresher than others that I used before… Within 2 months we ate 7 pounds from a different company, and I couldn’t find their product... But I’m so glad that I ordered from this place!! Now I’m going to try the Garam Masala blend from the same brand, Simply Organic, and see how different it’s going to be, in a great way. Very clean lentils. Very flavorful. Red lentils cook very quickly so they're quick and easy to use at home. I make dal saag in my Instant Pot with the dal saag cooking in the pot and the basmati rice cooking in a shallow bowl on top of a tall trivet to suspend it above the dal saag. I temper the spices in oil on the Saute' mode, dump in the rest of the ingredients, add the trivet, put the bowl of rice and water on top, seal the lid and pressure cook everything together with the Rice mode on the Instant Pot. Twelve minutes of pressure cooking for the rice is a bit much for the red lentils. They almost completely cook down into a stew but they're still delicious. Red lentils cook so quickly that I use them for Camping Curry in lieu of freeze dried camping food, but it's tasty enough to use as a hearty prepared convenience food meal at home and could even be a microwaved meal at work. All of the ingredients can be found on Amazon. CAMPING CURRY 1/4 cup red lentils 2 Tbsp TVP 1/4 cup instant rice 1 Tbsp dried onion 1 Tbsp dried red & green bell peppers 1/2 tsp dried garlic granules 1 dried mushroom, crumbled 1/8 cup coconut powder 2 tsp curry powder 1/4 tsp Kashmir red chili powder 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp garlic salt 1 Tbsp coconut oil (blended into spices before packaging) Add all ingredients to 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes, covered, or remove from heat and insulate in a sleeping bag or Reflectix pouch for 15-30 minutes. If desired, reheat on low for 5 minutes. Best with a slice of whole wheat bread.

When I ordered this, I thought I was kidding whole red lentils. To my dismay I received split lentils. In the ad it says that they will sprout. Yes, some will sprout. I got about 1/3 of them to sprout. For me, this is not a good value. You don’t know which ones are going to sprout and which ones aren’t so you can’t pick through them and use them both to cook and to sprout. So for me the value is not what I was wanting.

They came protected in a very sturdy bag. I haven't been able to find red lentils in my area for three or four years. I haven't used them yet but they look very nice. Although it's a large bag, per pound the price is reasonable.
