Will the magnetic guide work on my machine?

It works on any machine with a metal needle plate — most Brother, Singer, Janome, Husqvarna, Kenmore, and Babylock. If your needle or bobbin area is plastic, the magnet won't grip. The perforated ruler still works on its own

How small is the ruler, really?

The ruler is 2.5" wide and 5.5" long — sized to sit under the presser foot, not to replace a quilting ruler. Great for setting seam widths and marking pivot points. Not a substitute for a 6" or 12" cutting ruler.

Is the magnet safe for my sewing machine?

Yes. The magnet is designed to hold the guide in place, not to damage internal parts. When you're done, slide the guide off horizontally rather than pulling straight up.

Can I use it for 1/4" quilting seams?

Absolutely — the 1/4" hole is one of the 16 perforations, and the 1/4" pivot point helps with binding corners. If your presser foot sits right over the 1/4" mark, try using the ruler to set the guide instead of directly under the foot.

What if I'm brand new to sewing?

You're who we designed this for. The starter guide walks you through each step, and there are no complicated settings. Start with a 1/2" or 5/8" seam on scrap fabric — you'll feel the difference on your first straight line.
