Works perfectly with S23 Ultra native camera app
This Sennheiser Clip-On Lavalier Microphone is plug and play with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Native camera app detects the microphone immediately upon insertion and selects usb as a source. Great product.

perfect!
It works perfectly straight out of the box, long cable and a nice metal clip not plastic like cheaper brands, I will definitely be going with Sennheiser again

Amazing performance with no compromises
Sennheiser is known for its muscle-flexing performance in the audio industry. I have used them for microphones and headphones for a while now to know that their items are premium, well-designed, and hold well to the reputation they built over the years. This Lavalier microphone is no exception. It comes in a simple packaging and the unboxing is pretty straightforward. The pouch is a nice addition as it is vital to protect the microphone when not in use. This is a plug-and-use item. It literally works immediately after plugging. I used it with a mirrorless camera, a desktop computer, a phone, and a MacBook. It worked perfectly in all situations and delivered crisp clear quality that I started thinking to embark on doing some podcasts with it.The only thing I would have appreciated even more is the length of the cable. While I understand that this is to be plugged to a device nearby, I wish the cable was longer for other situations: For instance when plugged to a camera to record video and audio the same time.In sum though, it is beyond convenient and functions flawlessly. The quality speaks for itself and I cannot see any compromise from Sennheiser, as usual! 5 stars

Don’t diss but some hiss
I am a Rode guy when it comes to microphones. I know how they feel, where cables run, and what I expect of their performance. Sennheiser is jumping in on what I know. Does it work any better?Let’s set up expectations. Here we have a USB C connection lapel mic, made for either newer phones, or new Apple laptops (but not mobiles!). Therefore it’s targeted at content creators wanting better audio. It delivers pretty well. My voice is both warm, and picks up some highs too, not peaking my plosive Ps and Bs. Sounding balanced is a huge jump up in production value - and this is ideal for sounding sensational on Zoom calls. For further production though, there is some hiss on recordings. It is as expected for any audio recordings, but, it’s one more step in producing vocals at their best, such as for podcasts, or adding an audio bed to cover the hiss.Product feel isn’t quite the same as Rode quality. To loop round the cable there isn’t a catch on the peg, meaning the cable can rub. The mic end is a lot thicker than expected, and the bud snaps in firmly, while the USB connection side feels sturdy.Alas, a good wired mic is a good wired mic, and what’s at the end limits its use. With a moulded USB C connection this is ideal for new laptops and Android, but without a standard jack plus adaptor it’s pretty limited if you want to insert it into traditional audio ports. Like... your DSLR if you’re hoping to be a vlogger?!Great for enhanced audio if you have the connections, but be aware of limitations with the rest of your setup.
