We do a lot of traveling in the winter with our working truffle dogs. We often have more than one with us, which takes up a lot of the internal space in our Subaru. But we love the comfort, efficiency and capabilities of the Outback Wilderness, and prefer not to purchase a larger vehicle. Having maxed our our Skybox, we explored the somewhat controversial EXO system. So far... amazing! This GearLocker is cavernous but still totally feasible for one person to mount it. The swing away exo mount means I can open our tailgate, get access to the dogs, and then just swing it back into place. There are some reasonable weight limits, but the volume available more than makes up for that. The perfect addition to our Subaru to increase capacity to that of a full-sized SUV without the purchase or operational expense. Total convert!

It is great for extra storage

We already had the swivel out base and this EXO is matched to the same mounting system. Goes on in minutes and is key locked so it cant be removed from the carrier. Holds a lot of gear and the EXO sits low so not more getting out a ladder to load and unload my rooftop Thule. This is much easier. However, when mounted, I cant turn on my backup sensors. All other smart features on my car work as normal. I did not need any auxillary lights as this unit sits below all of the lights on my SUV. I would recommend that they start including reflective strips to stick on this unit as I'm always afraid of getting rear ended at night.

Golf gear fits great in the box, keeps the car clean.

The cargo box is light yet quite sturdy. Fits nicely in the EXO system. If someone is wondering if it works well in GX 460, it does. No issue with exhaust heating the cargo box or EXO base.

Really happy with these. Able to store a lot of items. Sturdy for intended use.

Gives more storage which is nice. The lid supports don't open far enough. Everything is put together with rivets insteadof nuts and bolts. Some are loose already.
