It can fit several pieces of regular paper in each slotted page, or thicker materials like heavy card stock (what I'm using personally), poster material, etc!

This product does fit the standard 8.5x11 paper! It glides right in as if you're using a photo album with the glossy pages, with no struggle! It is top loading!

I just received my display book & the cover is not nnected to the protection pages at all. Are they not supposed to be connected?

The protected "pages" or sleeves are definitely supposed to be connected to the "spine" of the folder, like the pages of a book are connected to the binding.
