I bought this 2.2 pounder because it was a low price at the bigger quantity, and it was a organic product, assurring its top purity and quality. I put a tabl. in my smoothie for another helpful ingredient to my multi ingredient smoothie. It mixes well with everything, as it is a fine powder, like flour. I don't taste or smell anything at all mixed in the smoothie. I didn't notice any fishy or odd taste to it, just what you'd expect from a spoonful of a little vegetable powder in water or a smoothie. I like that it is lab tested for being top pure quality. I use a long teaspoon to not-messy way to measure out of the sturdy container it comes in. And it is a dark rich color, but it doesn't stain, and easily washes off under running water, or wiped off with a sponge.

The Freshness, ingredients, energy boost, and its effectiveness met my expectations.

I've been using Carlyle organic spirulina for a cpl years now and am hesitant to write my true feelings on the product because I don't want availability to decrease and the price to increase! But I'm going to be honest anyway because this is something more people should add into their diet for gut health, sustainable protien and micronutrients for overall well being. This is definitely high quality blue-green algae! I add 24grams (3-scoops) to my smoothie each morning so I ggo though a fair amount of sea-weed. I had been using several other brands due to small packages and high prices before finding this. Great taste (no fishiness or anything weird), consistency is great for mixing into anything, and the price is unbelievable. I love being able to buy this kilo size for sustainability, health and shipping benefits. This is the best value and a fantastic product. Do your body a favor- you won't be disappointed if you enjoy quality spirulina!

The size of the container got much larger from 2025 to 2026, but the amount of spirulina inside didn't increase. What did increase was the price, up $8.50. The spirulina is good and still at a good price. Just disappointed in the packaging choice so only 4 stars.

i just use one scoop or 1/2 a scoop in my smoothy. and it doesnt taste bad, the taste is awful by itself, i think this is a health ingredient, i hope so, i dont notice any difference or improvement in my health there is a large quantity of this product in 1 container, its a good value.

This stuff is amazing

I've been ordering this for quite some time now and like it. It's tasty and is a good value. My most recent order arrived in a jar twice the size of the usual jar. It was still 2.2 pounds, but the jar is so huge it won't even fit it my pantry. Because it has so much empty space in the jar it was crushed in shipping and now has a big dent. I'll have to save my old jar and transfer the contents of the new one to it, both for storage and ease of handling a jar without a dent in it. Being so dusty and sticking to everything with ease, this will make a huge mess and waste a lot of product. I can't imagine why Carlyle would double the size of the jar for no reason. It will increase the cost, irritate new customers who think the jar is full, and creates an inferior image with damaged and dented jars that don't fit in a pantry.

I saw some places recommend up to 10tbsp per day of this stuff so I figured I'd try two heaping scoops which look to be about tablespoon size in with some water and cherries and I just can't get past the taste. Tastes like I drank a neglected fish tank. I'm not sure if this is normal or if i used too much. I'm thinking it could go good with like a peanut butter smoothie but needs something to mask that taste, for me at least. I don't get people saying neutral taste maybe they're just using a tiny tiny bit and i may have overdid it with two heaping scoops. otherwise i mean i trust when they say it's algae.
