SANDISK Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Reader - SDDR-F451-GNGEN

I bought a second one of these to take with me on Safaris in Africa, as well as a trip to Costa Rica. I had previously purchased one to transfer files to my computer when I got my Canon R5. It works well and the transfer speeds seem more than fast enough. I bought a second one before my big trips as a backup in case one failed or got broken or lost, but never had any issues. For the two safaris, I brought my notebook computer and would transfer my files to external SSD drives by hooking one of these to one port and the SSD to another port. Transfers are quick and easy just using Windows file manager. For my trip to Costa Rica I decided I wasn't going to lug around my heavy laptop and its big power supply, so I bought a little Anker USB-C hub with 4 ports and did the transfers using my Samsung phone as the interface. That worked well, again hooking up the card reader to one port and the SSD drive to another port. At first I tried backing up to two SSD drives at the same time, but the speed dropped way down. When I only connected one SSD drive, the transfers were super fast... maybe even faster than with my notebook computer.

I have had an issue when I switched to an iPad Pro to edit my photos with card readers not working or being compatible with Apple’s mobile version of software verse the other software on MacBook laptops. I had went through a few different card readers without any luck. This SanDisk Pro card reader works great, however. It is reliable, really fast, and always quickly reads the files and transfers them without any issue. I highly recommend and would purchase again in a heartbeat. The only thing to remember is that if you are using this to transfer file from the card readers directly to a separate SSD using an iPad make sure to purchase a USB-C hub that is powered as opposed to one that isn’t powered.

Easy to use and downloads fast. Can only use with the same brand of cards. My Sony cards don't work with this.

Got this to speed up the picture transfers after trips. Transferring a couple hundred GB went from an hour to a few minutes using this compared to the camera directly. No special software just plug it in and select files. If you want to speed up picture transfer or take your camera out of the equation this is a great option. Just make sure the write speed of the location your copying too is fast or it won’t make much of a difference.

I bought this to replace a card reader that came as a package deal with my card. The cheap card reader in the package got very hot and it would stop reading the card unless I had a fan on it. This SanDisk card reader barely gets warm. Much better product and I am very happy.

This is my first B card, it's fast if you go directly to your PC, if you go the long way through a USB extension cord, it will slow down and heat up. The cord provided could not be used and had to go buy one.

This is the Samsung card reader for the new CF Cards. These fit into modern Mirrorless or Z cameras in Nikon vernacular.

Love this card reader! After many issues with CFexpess cards constantly crashing my mac, a colleague recommended I try the SanDisk and I have never had an issue with any of my cards since! It might not be the fastest available but the amount of time it saves me by not having any more issues makes it worth every penny!

Le lecteur en lui-même marche bien. Il est rapide, fiable et solide. Le câble en revanche, je m'en procurerais un autre (mini USB-C 3.1 Gen2) car j'ai eu de meilleurs résultats en faisant des comparatifs avec d'autres câbles.
