The Art of Kubo and the Two Strings

This is a gorgeous book - I bought it for my Kubo obsessed daughter (age 10) - and she LOVES it. The illustrations are inspiring and detailed, and it's a great supplement for fans of the movie, especially those who love the art and character creation process of the film. Highly recommend!

Lots of artist notes and fun trivia about the process. I wish there were more early concept art and photos of the maquette masks, but it is a gorgeous book for a fantastic film.

Excellent condition the book was shrink wrapped and in prestige condition upon arrival. But what I loved was the stellar artwork inside. I have a small collection of “art of” books and this is one of the best I’ve seen. You can really tell when someone puts their heart into something and this studios did an excellent job with alibi and the two strings.

This is the most beautiful "art of animation" book I've bought- I absolutely love the artistic direction for this film, and I loved getting to see the initial sketches that led to the final stage. Gorgeous, just gorgeous.

This book is amazing! The art is beautiful and the quality of the book is impressive enough I can imagine having this book for years. Art books are some of my favorite things, and I'm super glad to have one from Leika, who I love.

This book is a great book for any Kubo fan. Yes, it does not really contain behind the scenes images, and it does have a lot of concept art in it, but it is still something that any Kubo or Laika fan should have. I have not read the book yet, but have just gone through the pages for the art in it, and would recommend it. Make you get wrapped in plastic, as if there is no plastic it is not brand new. All of these come wrapped in plastic.

Great book as usual, but I'm kind of disappointed that there aren't more puppet photographs included. It's mostly concept art which is great, but I'd like to see the workmanship and detail of the final puppets themselves. Also more about the mechanical functioning of some of the more complicated characters would have been nice.

Gorgeous book! Great movie made my extremely talented animators. If this does not win an Academy award, then we know the fix is in for sure. Unique story and captivating animation. The book shows all the effort the animators went through to create such a beautiful story.

Lovely book, it just seems to have concept art only but it is beautiful and very insightful despite that. Definitely recommended for fans of the film of course but also good for people who are interested in concept art, animation, papercraft (origami), Japanese culture etc potentially. It does have a fair amount of text that describes the concept and production of the film as well as the history of the studio and people involved from the looks of it? I've not read the whole thing yet, but I've honestly enjoyed it, got my money's worth at least!
