Whats the purpose of a tinted sunscreen?

The original purpose of tinted sunscreens was to tint the white minerals to blend better with skin. The reason this doesn't come in multiple tints is that its not intended to replace a foundation but rather just make minerals easier to blend into skin--any skin. its lighter than many skin tones, but still darker than the white color of minerals. Having said that, with my moderately light white skintone, this does help blur imperfections and cover some redness, so I find I dont need foundation after using it.

Will this stain clothing? I'd like to put it on my upper chest/neck.

Yes, it does. I try and wear dark colored clothing when I wear this sunscreen to keep it from showing. Most of the times I can get the sunscreen stain out when I scrub the clothing with Fels Naptha or something like that. That being said, I absolutely love this sunscreen as it is the only one I've found that doesn't cause my skin to break out.
