Gyros 45-51002 Premium Industrial Grade Cobalt Jobbers Length, 135 Degree Point Drill Bit, Size #2, Pack of 12

It looked like a great drill bit . But -- the description didn't mention that it is not a 1/2 inch shank drill bit so I was unable use it. It was bigger than my drill - it was 9/16 inch.

AVOID THIS BRAND!!! I've purchased several sizes of these drill bits. All of the packages are marked "Premium (Made in US) Industrial Grade Cobalt Drill Bit". They each do indeed have 12 bits, and they APPEAR to be cobalt (they are gold-oxide coated). However...one package of #31 bits has FOUR different manufacture bits in it. A second package of the #31 size bits has 12 bits which are all of the same manufacture, but different than any of the (4) manufacturers from the first pack.Some of the bits are marked "Drill America", which are Chinese bits. Some are marked U.S. Some don't have any markings at all, not even size stamps! Each package is different than the next, and a lot of the packages have 3 or 4 different manufacture of bits in them. Who knows who made these, what country they're from, what size they are, what kind of steel they are...waste of time and money. AVOID!

Great drill bit, very tough. Did fine drilling thru steel beam. Keep in mind if you order any size over 1/2" it may not fit your drill chuck because there is no recessed end. It would also be nice if it had 3 flats ground into the shank to avoid slipping in the chuck.

Pretty bad drill bits. It’s like they didn’t grind one side of the bit angle. You can actually see the difference in angles. Runs around on the surface like crazy when you try to start the drill. And that’s on aluminum.
