Coffee by the mug. At home or camping.
Of the 3 tea steeping sets purchased this is my favorite one for making coffee. While motorcycle touring I've been making single mugs of coffee with Melitta #2 or #4 filters and boiling water. I went through a lot of filters, and ran out on some long tours.I bought the first steeper as a way to reduce my paper filter consumption. But the first steeper was a bit too small for 15g of ground coffee. My second attempt was bigger but screwed apart in two equal halves which lacked capacity. This set offered me both a 3rd and 4th try at sizing. The large sized in this set was not needed as the small size holds 15g of coffee. I now measure using the top holes in the main basket. Filling to the top holes is a coffee measure of 15g in either bean and loose ground form. The steeper tends to invert when dropped into a mug of coffee. Since the cap, threads and chain weigh more than the basket end. When lowered in the flip-over makes the chain want to dive into the coffee, but otherwise only helps by moving the basket around more. I hook the chain through a hole in a piece of flexible cutting board, cut down to just cover the mug. Covering retains extra heat, and when camping keeps debris and insects out.A major benefit of this steeper over a #2 filter is that I can now adjust the coffee brew strength at the end by bobbing after my 3 minute steep completes. When ground course I find between 5 and 30 bobs does it, depending on mug size and water temp. While camping I bring water to a rolling boil. At home my microwave gets 250ml of water close in 2m22s (over 3 minutes for a large mug).I haven't used these yet camping, where the cleanup will be much harder. A #2 paper filter just went into the garbage. I'll still have garbage of loose grounds, plus I'll have something to clean out.At home most of the grounds come out with a tap over the kitchen garbage can. The remaining wash out with quick rinse in the sink. Flushing the cups inside first, then held under the faucet with water running from the outside to inside normally suffices. Running my finger around the inside while holding it under the faucet helps to get any stubborn grounds free.Pretty happy with the cup of coffee this produces at home. On coffee snob scale I would rate myself in the middle of the road, leaning more towards the snob side. I don't like dark coffee like Starbucks, but enjoy a good cup of smooth coffee. Earlier this years I started roasting my own coffee, and began attempting to perfect a good consistent brew method for consistent tasting. I like lighter smooth coffee. After a few dozen single source green bean roasts I found that I like most coffee beans from central america.UPDATE 12/21/23Finally got around to using the large infuser, and it does work better for a single cup of coffee. It seems too big in a small 8oz mug, but works better than the small one. The infuser cannot flip over in most mugs , because they are not wide enough. Coffee seems to taste a little better when it has extra room to expand inside the infuser. Coffee can still be nicely tuned to your tastes with a few finishing "bobs" of the infuser before pulling it out to drain. Very happy with the coffee from the large size, even though it makes it less convenient for travel camping. So happy, I bought another pair of the large size, so I can make coffee for two.

Good buy.
This little things are solid. Holes are just big enough to do the job without getting stuff in your drink. The build is not weak. I've dropped them on the floor a few times, not a dent or scratch. Love them.

Simply the best
No idea who came up with this style of tea infuser, but they deserve credit for coming up with the perfect infuser. Easy to use, easy to clean, holds A LOT of loose leaf and doesn’t leak a bunch of solids into your brew. We drink tea daily and these have held up beautifully to months of regular use. I’ll say it’s best to clean them immediately. If not, sometimes the tea leaves get stuck in the little holes and are a little bit difficult to remove after they dry. And when I say a little bit difficult I truly mean just slightly more difficult. That’s all. Love these and have 2 sets in the cupboard.

Great Design
No pieces ever get through these! They work great! They also screw on easily and are still working after many uses. I would buy again. I purchased the smaller tea holder of the 2 and it holds a good amount as I like a larger tea. Cleaning them is also simple. I don’t out them in the dishwasher.

Very good buy, no Tea falls out
This has pretty much everything you’re looking for in a basic steeper and we’ve been really happy with these, especially since no tea can get out of it. I’ve had some where small pieces can get through the cracks but these don’t have the issue and are a great value that includes the chain that you can tie around the mug handle. 5/5
