They do not help you lose weight. That isn’t their purpose. The purpose is to make you look more put together and not have bulges showing.

Q: Would this work with a low back dress

I think they should work for a low back dress.....as long as the back doesn’t go past your hips. Order a size smaller than you wear. I’m a 2XL and really had no support.
