These are an absolute must have if you have any fencing that you’re doing repairs on OR if you’re replacing your old fence for new. Great for barbwire patches and even better for high tensile fencing.

Update September 13, 2026: I am installing an additional tension wire in order to add some sense of control to my bamboo which grows next to my dear fence. I ordered additional cripple for this wire fence as well because they worked so well with the first project. I purchased a pack of twenty Medium (13.5-10) Gripple Wire Joiners to install my deer fence. Using the Gripple Tool (not included) I was able to install the 12 gauge tension wire without problem, and tension it to my satisfaction. They work as advertised, hold the wires in place once they're inserted into the Gripple Wire Joiner. I would definitely recommend this product and the Gripple Tool (not included) to a friend.

Expensive, but ease of use shrinks the learning curve to DIY fence work

I had a few places in my woven wire fence run that were short sections, 8’- 16’ runs like where I cut in to install gates. They’re too short to get the fence stretcher and come alongs in there so I used these on 1 end instead and they work absolutely great at getting the fence guitar string tight. I had tried a knock off brand first because they were a couple dollars per pack cheaper, these Gripple brand joiners are well worth paying a couple dollars extra for. With the other brand I couldn’t pull the fence as tight as I wanted, the opposite side would slip and pull through. With these Gripples I quickly learned you have to be careful using them, I pulled a 14 gauge center wire so tight it actually snapped the wire. They are a little difficult to release if you need to take them back off, but that’s fine, I didn’t build my fence to be easy to take apart. You have to use the Gripple tension tool and the little release tool together to be able to get them loose.

Works good so far

It’s way better than just the hot wire strainers. It’s easy to undo and reuse if needed.

Work great for poly deer fence wire. Some on my original fence has been in place for many years and the gripples have been reused several times.
