Retrospec Solana Yoga Mat 1/2" Thick w/Nylon Strap for Men & Women

I was due for a new yoga mat as I practice every day anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes. Over the years I've taken to liking the 1/2" thick mats with the grip lines. They're just easier on the joints (two acl reconstructions and a spinal fusion from T2 to L2) and a plate in my wrist. This mat is great. I like the design and color, the thickness is perfect, no smell AT ALL which is both rare and awesome. I used it today and found it comfortable. I also like the 72" length because I'm about 5'9 so I'm not hanging off the mat. I've been practicing yoga for over 15 years and have my CYT 200 even though I don't teach, and I would highly recommend this mat.

I am baffled by the reviews that say the mat is not non-slip. Makes me wonder if perhaps different color mats are just enough different to vary in their grip (or slip)?? I have the blue mist and have had zero issues with it slipping.I have found the thickness to be wonderful for my bony joints. My knees no longer scream in pain while doing different stretches. I have been very pleased and find the mat to offer plenty of cushion and stability.It did arrive smelling odd so I put it out on my patio for a day of sunshine. The smell disappeared and was ready to use the next morning.

The mat itself is great and as someone who didn’t want to break the bank but still wanted to be comfortable I decided to go with this. What caught my attention were the colors but more importantly how thick they were. Upon arrival you do have to be careful opening it which is expected. However there were dents from the carrying straps which I assume it’s because it was really cold. I do notice that if you place your mat in a cold area it will start to form with whatever is around it.BE CAREFUL WITH THAT. it is a mix of user error as I do leave it in the trunk of my car for my early morning for Pilates which I do twice a week. It gets cold. I did notice that one day in an area where I usually have my knees on there was a small rip/opening. It doesn’t bother me not affect my performance. I also don’t slip? I don’t wear anything special just regular puma socks and I don’t slip. For the price you can’t beat it. I am buying another one. Overall it is a good starter mat :)

Nice mat with just the right amount of padding for a new yoga user. Lies flat, rolls & carries easily

I've had this 1/2 inch purple mat for 1.5 years. I bought it when I began doing Pilates at home. It is a wonderful mat! It is cushioned enough to prevent my tailbone and knees from hurting during various positions. It definitely has some wear from using it frequently and from my dog's toenails, but it is still completely usable. I would highly recommend this mat and will certainly repurchase when necessary.

The mat is thick and comfortable, with good grip during workouts and stretching. It provides nice support on hard floors and the carrying strap is convenient. However, there was a pretty strong odor when first opened.

Nice and thick for my knees. I use it fir pilates the green color is so cute and the strap makes it easy to carry. For some movements it's a little hard to stabilize, but nothing too majure.

Very slippery

Exactly what I was looking for. Recently my pilates studio changed the flooring from carpet to floorboards . This did not suit my body as the exercises were hard on my knees and elbows and back. This mat has made my exercise regime so much more comfortable. 1/2 inch suits best. It rolls easily . Obviously because of thickness it would not fit my usual bag so I had to buy a bigger bag but that is just me

Habe sie vlt 5 mal benutzt, tut was sie soll, ist von beiden Seiten rutschfest aber hinterlässt Spuren wenn man was schweres drauflegt und dort sind dann knicke die auch nichtmehr rausgehen, für mich aber nicht schlimm. Das Band zum Tragen zieht sich zur Mitte der Matte wenn man die Matte zusammengerollt trägt, das kann nerven aber nichts schlimmes.

Comfortable thickness worth the premium

Really happy with this mat! It's nice and thick, so it's much more comfortable than my old one, especially for exercises where I'm on my knees or back. It has a good grip and doesn't slide around while I'm working out. It feels well made, and it's easy to roll up and put away when I'm done. Great quality for the price, and I'd definitely recommend it if you want a little extra cushioning during your workouts.
