Champion Power Equipment 20009 Roller Fairlead for 3500 lb. or Less ATV/UTV Winches for Wire Cable

I purchased this for a HF 120v 1500lb winch. I have the winch mounted on my concrete floor behind my 4 post lift. I wanted a roller fairlead vice the metal fairlead. The Champion bolt holes lined up perfectly. The Champion bolt holes are larger than the HF Mounting bracked. I used the HF hardware to mount the Champion Fairlead to my HF Mounting Base. The HF Motor side bolt had to be cut a little shorter to fit. The winch side bolt fit without trimming.

The instructions that came with this mounting bracket were ok but for a couple points Step 1 says to mount the fairlead, well the fairlead provided with badlands 2500 will not fit on this bracket as the holes do not line up for bolting together. I bought a seperate fairlead on Amazon. Champion 20009 for $14 and it fit perfectly. DO NOT bolt on the fairlead as the first step BUT DO put the mounting bolts thru the bracket holes and temporarily add the nuts loosely installed. Assemble this way because the 2500 lb winch bolt holes are totally inaccessable with the fairlead mounted. mount the fairlead after the winch is mounterd on this bracket. The bolts that are supplied with the winch are metric and absolute junk. the galvanizing covers the threads so much it is impossible to get the nuts installed. Get some HIGH GRADE american made USA standard bolts before you start. This eliminates the metric wrench issue too. The supplied additional little mounting bracket for the solonoid will not fit the Badlands 2500 black box solonoid. I just used wiring tie wraps to secure it to a member of the Polaris 450 sportsman ATV frame. Keep in mind the wired control cord receptacle when mounting this box. I wanted a plug to disconnect the power to the winch so i bought disconnect plugs on amazon JooFN 50 amp plugs for Anderson SB50 series . these will need to be soldered as I did not have wire crimpers for the size 10 wire on the winch. I suggest watching a couple you tube videos for mounting the winch to the polaris 450 before you start

Installed on my 2011 Arctic Cat 550 TRV ATV. Before buying always double / triple check your ATV's "bolt hole to bolt hole distance". As per Google Search "The 2011 Arctic Cat ATV typically uses a standard 4.875-inch (approx. 4-7/8" or 124mm) bolt pattern for its winch fairlead, compatible with 2,000–3,500 lb winches.... ". This product's bolt holes was a perfect fit. TIP: Before installing remove each roller (using 2 x 17mm wrenches) and manually pack each roller cavity / gap with marine grade wheel bearing grease. Their insides are dry at factory. Other then this tip, I'd buy again (for my AC ATV 550 TRV)....
