I don’t think anyone should buy this, even on sale.
The device at first looks like it might be good. It’s heavy like it should be. But execution is terrible. First, no power cord. I have plenty though, so that was solved. Next, the voltage tests off, using a Fluke multimeter. 8mv is out of spec as shown above-spec is under 4mv at this voltage. That doesn’t sound like much, but it is huge for battery balancing, and larger than the $60 power supply it replaced. What I didn’t show was that voltage floating up and down around this point by +/- 5mv. At this point I’m done, but the picture doesn’t get better from hereEven if it were good enough to use for battery balancing the instructions are totally inadequate. I am familiar enough with power supplies and cannot get this device to operate in constant current mode, or to deliver any current through a load in constant voltage mode. Where’s the fuse? Somewhere inside I suppose. Not in the manual. The manual is fairly thick but has no content on how to activate those modes, which are critical for battery balancing. Virtually the entire manual focuses on programming for remote operating mode. Finally, every time I push a button, it beeps really loudly. Is there a way to turn that off? Don’t know, nothing in the manual.
