There's a bit of a learning curve, but honestly these are great for the price
When I first got these, I was disappointed because the light coming directly out of these is still pretty hard even though they've already built diffusion into the light. Truth is, I didn't understand lighting well enough at that point. To get soft light, I use 2 of these at 35% power shooting through the diffuser from a 5 in 1 reflector and keep my aperture between 1.8 and 2.8. With this setup, I can get exactly the soft light look I'm going for. Being able to change color temp is hugely beneficial. I would definitely buy more of these. They're a great tool. Also these are great with some colored gels.
