Transitioning to sitting on the floor. Tried out several different options, not only tatami chairs. I found tatami chairs the best entry for “westerners” to adapt to ground sitting compared to other forms of ground sitting.These chairs are very sturdy, sleek and minimalist. I tried the plywood versions and they tend to break as westerners tend to be much bigger and heavier than Asians.Only downside is that the seat is slippery, so I applied surf pad to the seats, like what they put on surf boards.

The is a very precise build and good design! Easy to assemble and excellent quality.

J'aime beaucoup la chaise.Elle est comme mon ancienne acheté en mai 2023. J'ai acheté ma deuxième chaise en septembre 2023.Les deux sont encore excellente. Elles vont certainement me durer des années ou des décenniesElle vient non assemblée, mais avec les petits troues préfaits, les vis et le tournevis. C'était très facile à assembler. Elle est très solide.Sur ma première chaise, ma plaque pour le dos a une petite fissure. Cela pourrait, après plusieurs années, possiblement fendre. Mais pour l'instant, tout est parfait.Sur la seconde chaise, il n'y en a pas.J'utilise la table pour dehors et pour en dedans.Elle a une bonne hauteur de dossier.Ce qui pourrait être amélioré:-Une plaque plus longue pour le dos, pour couvrir le trou dorsal. MAIS. Maintenant je suis habituée, et ça me va à merveille. Comme quoi!-Que la plaque dorsal n'ait pas une fissure et/ou que le bois soit parfaitement lisse. J'ai une chaise qui a un bout ''piquant'' sur une partie de la chaise.Ce qui peut être bien ou moins bien, en fonction de votre corps:Les deux 'sous pattes' fait en sorte que la planche de repos des fessiers ne touchent pas directement au sol. C'est une surélévation de 1 pouce environ.Bref, il ne reste plus qu'à ce que le producteur en fasse de d'autres tons!

Backrest was a little damaged, but I've built it and taking it apart is a pain. It's easy to build, screwdriver included and surprisingly sturdy (for now). I'm a 91kg (200lbs) guy and it doesn't feel like it's struggling to handle my bulk.

There were no reviews for this chair so I decided to take a plunge. The chair is extremely easy to put together, less than five minutes. Comfort wise, a slim pad is recommended, however it is a great height from the floor and makes crossing your legs easier on the knees. Support wise, it seems very sturdy and has great lumbar support. I am heavy set, at 225lbs, and the chair’s back does not feel like it will break or crack. I docked one star overall for a few craftsman issues which are easily fixed. 1) one leg appeared more lacquered than the rest of the chair and 2) one small crack in the underside of the other leg, which was filled with glue.(update: 5/11/21)The wife and I enjoy using the chair so much we ordered a second.Overall, great Japanese floor chair at a great price!
