Kitchen Bouquet Browning and Seasoning Sauce - 4 oz

Pros/Cons: This is a browning sauce that I use to give ground turkey a richer dark brown color while cooking it. It doesn't add much flavoring but it enhances the crispier texture as long as you continuously flip and stir it on medium to low heat for about 30 to 45 minutes. It helps to add butter or olive oil to blend it in with the sauce as it tends to resist distributing evenly throughout the meat. Any pale meat will look more like ground beef after it's cooked and I find that more appealing in appearance. The expiration date is good through 27/November 26 (I can't tell if that's a year or a day date). It appears to have stock from carrots and onions and assorted chemical preservatives that gives it the color. I use about a teaspoon of the sauce mixed into 2 TBS. of butter or olive oil. I also brown Brisket roasts to sear the outside for a few minutes on all sides. The price has greatly increased over the years, and I'm not sure why that is, but it is a product that I've found reliable since I first learned how to cook.

Hi, I actually bought this product for a friend of mine who's store was out of it. I tried to get it where I shop but they don't carry the Kitchen Bouquet at all. I remember many years ago my parent's use to always have Kitchen Bouquet and used it frequently in making their gravy. It has a nice flavor and a good brown color. It was a little more expensive ordering than buying in the store, but her store was out and mine didn't sell it at all. So it was worth it to me to be able to find something my friend really wanted and used a lot. I was very happy that I could get it for her !

I looked for this seasoning for years. For whatever reason, it's not carried in any of my local grocery stores and then I thought to check Amazon and there it was! I used it always as a gravy additive and it's wonderful. Use only a dash for color and flavor then add more if necessary. Keep it tightly sealed and it will last a very long time. I can't speak to the value because I haven't purchased any in such a long time and then there's inflation, but if you've used it before and love it, it's worthwhile. If you haven't and want to eliminate "pale" gravy, try it!

This product arrived in a mess. The lid had not been properly screwed on the bottle and the liquid had spilled out in the package. Fortunately it did not ruin the other items, but this product is unusable. I would like a replacement.

This is the best browning I've used. Mother in law bought me one 20 yrs ago and I've been using it since , I've had to try other brands when I couldnt find this one and they dont compare to this flavor. I use it for my homemade turkey gravy Mom in law didnt like white gravy and boy did it make my gravy even better I wont make gravy without it. I use it in other things too but homemade trukey gravy can be as light or dark as you like , the flavor is truly awesome. Just a dab will do. Not overwhelming it compliments whatever you use it in. Highly recommend.

I’ve used this product for years & like it. It’s not the product that was bad. The lid was not secure & there was leakage. Makes me apprehensive about using it. Thank goodness it was in a plastic bag.

Raised with this brand for gravies, beef soups, etc. Excellent flavor addition.

This is a difficult item to find in grocery stores, and because of the negative reviews of some of the packaging mishaps, I hesitated to order, but took a chance anyway. When there’s a problem you can tell Amazon right away and it will be made right👍 It arrived in a well-sealed plastic bottle, no drips, etc., so I am a happy 😃 customer. I use it mostly for Jamaican Oxtails, but it’s good for an extra visual and taste kick with other meats.
