The outlet port is NOT facing the direction.
On the KLR the old petcock outlet is facing inward not aft. I failed to pay attention to details an only recognized it after I was installing the fuel hose. Dah!!! Anyways! I managed to flexed the fuel hose by making some small cuts to the plastic cover next to it. It has been 200 miles. No problem yet, although others recommend that if the bike sits for too long (a week or more) turn the valve to off to prevent flooding. I Personally have not had this problem but I still do it when I remember.
