I am delighted with this little device, which I bought in the hope it would enable me to scan some old (1930s to 1950s) 620- and 127-format black-and-white negatives. It does just that, for an outlay of only £13. To upgrade my good dedicated flatbed scanner, which is still in perfect order, to a model that takes medium-format negs as well as 35mm would be much more costly.Using the scanner function of my Epson printer/scanner, I found that setting the little lightpad at the lowest of its three brightness levels and placing it over the negative on the scanner glass produces a very acceptable scanned image, which can then be easily reversed to positive and edited on the computer. The lightpad is A5 size and is less than 5mm thick, so it lies flat and places no strain on the scanner lid. The illumination is even and steady. The old negatives are mostly of mediocre photographic quality at best, but they have sentimental value. The correctly-exposed negs scan perfectly, but a few very underexposed examples worked better simply placed on the lightpad and photographed with a camera.A most satisfactory purchase.

I bought this for scanning negatives/positives from film. Although I haven't got my work flow fully ironed out yet, this has excellent even brightness and will be more than suitable for what I need.

Does what it's meant to do! Small and portable, very convenient. Might be slightly less convenient for those working with A4/A3 paper since you have to move it around

Fantastic for drawing or for letter writing. Very easy to use, just plug it in to a plug or computer and away you go
