Is the cloth still effective if you wash it?

I can imagine it wouldn't be. It is the spray that creates the effect - the cloth just distributes the spray and absorbs the excess. Any good quality soft fabric could do the job.

does it work for bathroom mirrors too?

I honestly don't know but I know if using a face mask especially in cold weather; ones glasses get quite wet with breath moisture. At this point your glasses aren't clear at all. I do feel with a lot of moisture surrounding a mirror after cleaning with a few alcohol wipes and then applying the Zeiss AntiFog spray with the special AntiFog cloth, probably wouldn't work. I will try it tomorrow morning and update this answer.
