Does this board need to be put together?

It comes completely assembled ready to ride. The wheels and trucks may be a little stiff when new and need a little time to break in.

Does it have grip tape added or does it need to be bought separately?

It comes with Grip tape. It has everything except for risers/shock pads under the trucks. I tried to add some I had from my old boards but they were different sizes oddly enough. I am sure my niece isn't going to be so rough on it that it will cause stress cracks but still, if you plan on using it often or being hard on it then I would suggest investing in them and making sure they have multiple screw holes.
