This item, 917-274, on my GM 3.6L engine had failed and was causing the dreaded "clatter" on startup. It already had brand new top brand Cloyes timing chains which the mechanics all say is even better than GM's chain set. However the previous owner saved money by not changing these phasor sprockets, one of which had failed and was the cause of the clattering problem on my engine.Note: I originally order 2 each of this 917-274 item, but when verifying parts once received one had the wrong part number on it. I contacted Dorman and that wrong part number is for a Transmission Oil Cooler and they have no idea how the number 918-274 could have been stenciled on a phasor sprocket.

How to do the timing on my 2009 Chevy traverse exhaust on the rear side of the motor which is the right side of the motor need to change this phase or exhaust phaser and this is the perfect fit for check engine light p0017 going away And timing is Back on point

Good stuff
Put 2 in my 2009 chevy traverse when I did the timing chain. Now it runs, must be good. Half the price of the ones from local parts store.

I WOULD BUY GENUINE GM INSTEAD
i am a tech and consider myself an expert on the 3.6 gm engine and their timing chain issues. i have replaced many. i will no longer use dorman cam phasers for this application. i had trouble with a rattle at hot idle after replacing the chain with a cloyes kit and all 4 new dorman phasers. i traced the problem to the dorman phasers. the dorman phasers had 30-35 thousands backlash when locked. the genuine gm phasers have about 10 thousands backlash. the genuine gm phasers fixed the problem. i will be using nothing but gm for this engine from now on.
