Q: How is Shoe Oil different from Shoe Grease?

Shoe Grease is a gel that is ideal for heavy duty leather care. Shoe Oil is a liquid that reaches seams, tooling, and leather soles more easily. It also provides a bit of "grip" for when holding on matters. Both products condition and waterproof.

Will it darken my leather?

Yes, Huberd's Shoe Oil will darken most leather, though typically less than Shoe Grease. It will lighten some after a few days. Test on a small hidden area before full application.

Is it messy or hard to control?

No. The easy-pour cap gives you controlled application. Start with a small amount on a cloth or brush rather than pouring directly onto leather until you're comfortable with the flow.

Can I use this on suede or nubuck?

Huberd's is not suitable for suede as it is a fragile leather than can rip or tear if over conditioned. You can use Huberd's on nubuck, but it will flatten the "fuzz". You may be able to brush some of the texture back after treatment

How much do I need per application?

A small amount goes a long way. The liquid spreads further than a paste. A small pour is sufficient for one boot.
