Absolutely Perfect!!
This mattress topper is perfect for my mattress. I got a twin bed frame and mattress set from my sister. The mattress is old and when sleeping on it, I found myself sinking into the mattress and was waking up with my arm numb and back pain. I bought this exact mattress topper in 2023 for my daughter’s college dorm bed. She used it 2 years, then gave it to our neighbor to use at her dorm. When my other daughter went to college last year, she used it for her dorm. During the summer, we brought all her stuff home from college. I tried the mattress topper and it was glorious! No more arm numbness or back pain. You “sink a little due to the thickness and give of the memory foam, but it supports the body and maintains its shape when you get up. It is plush to provide comfort but firm enough to not be too squishy. It comes in a very tiny box due to shrink wrapping. Follow the written directions and use the “envelope opener” enclosed so you don’t cut into the foam. Let it sit opened up a full 24 hours. It started expanding within minutes in a couple of spots but by the next day was fully expanded. I let it sit for 48 hours. There was absolutely no odor. I put a waterproof mattress protector on top since you can only spot clean foam. I have included a picture of the old one bought in 2023 to show how well it held up. The old one will be returning to my daughter’s dorm. It is slightly yellowed on the edges and a little discolored due to the age and use, but still feels the same and works perfectly. I do think the holes help with cooling, but covering it with a regular mattress protector makes it less effective. I am going to purchase a cooling mattress protector to try. It is much cooler than the other memory foam mattress I tried. The foam was a perfect fit. On a side note, I bought a “Serta Cooling” topper at a nearby store and tried it for a few days. It was horrible. It was so hot to sleep on and the foam did not “recover” and it did not help with my back or arm. I highly recommend this product. You won’t be disappointed! Note: The last photo is the 2023 topper.

Well..., maybe there IS a God......
Seriously, my prayers have been answered. I only wish I would have thought to invest in this mattress topper while I was pregnant. It might have saved me a huge headache (literally). I've never had much luck with mattresses, but I've never really blamed the mattresses - because I suck at sleeping. Apparently, I'm a contortionist in my sleep and do things with my body that would give little Linda Blair a run for her money. I wake up a million times a night with pains in my head, my neck, my back, my hips, my legs, literally everywhere. However, I've had a friend come over to help with my new baby and I happen to have the same mattress in the guest room that I have in my main bedroom. She brought it up to me one day that her hip and lower back were killing her since sleeping on the mattress in the guest room- even though it is a pretty expensive pillow-top brand. She asked me if I could order her some kind of mattress topper from Amazon and she'd reimburse me. At this point, I had been in so much agony myself that I got two - one for the guest bed and one for mine. And if it weren't for the fact that I only have nightmares, I'd insist that I'm dreaming up this amazing experience with this mattress topper. I mean, I really don't even have words for this thing. I'm not pain free - because, well, it's gonna take a lot of time to undo that kind of damage. But I have noticed a dramatic difference. My body feels so soothingly cradled. I'm not tossing and turning constantly trying to get comfortable. It's just pure bliss. This may sound strange, but it feels like a hug. It does. It really does. Like a hug from the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Some Technical Details: 1) It was very easy to set up. 2) There was only a very faint odor that dissipated almost immediately. 3) I was so desperate to use it that I didn't even wait the full 48 hours as suggested but it seemed to be super plump straight out of the box. The density is perfect for me. 4) It fit absolutely perfectly across my king-sized bed 5) It appears to be of durable quality unlike some toppers I have seen or used in the past that easily shred or discolored. Time will be the ultimate test so I can't 100 percent guarantee this but judging from observation this would appear to be the case. I will update as necessary. 6) It does live up to the claim about not retaining heat and keeping the body a cool and comfortable temperature (which is crucial for a person like me because I practically need to live in an igloo). So yes, I'm very impressed thus far and absolutely I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. I've honestly never been this excited to go to sleep. My fiance loves it and he was a bit upset that I got it in the first place because he loved the mattress the way it was, but now he loves THIS more. And even my little doggie who has become a neurotic mess since my baby was born seems to be a tad more comforted and peaceful sleeping next to me now. Just writing about it makes me want to go upstairs and jump in bed. I'm starting to wonder if they put something inside this thing if you know what I'm talking about, because I'm addicted. Just kidding... Maybe.

Soft Dreams or Sinkholes? A Lucid Mattress Topper Tale
Oh, the Lucid Topper, so soft and so blue, It arrived in a box, and it knew what to do! I unpacked it quick, with a zip and a glide, And in less than an hour, it puffed up with pride! My bed was too firm, a bit hard like a rock, So I got this soft topper, thought I’d give it a knock. And soft it sure was, like a marshmallow dream, You sink right in, like you're lost in a cream. But beware, dear shopper, it's squishy, you see, If your bed's plush already, it might not be key. For sinking too much, oh, you might get stuck, So firm beds only, to really press your luck! It slides just a bit, so don't toss too wild, Or you’ll wake up slanted, like a giggly child. The cover I got? It was loose at the seams, With strings hanging out, not as neat as it seems. But all in all, I’ll give it a cheer, Though not perfect, it’s cozy, and brings comfort near. A 4 out of 5, not bad, I’d say, A good choice if firmness keeps sleep at bay!

Just right
Soft but not too soft! Getting much better sleep after adding this. It expanded out of the package to its full size in just a couple hours. There was a faint smell but nothing noxious. It does hold heat but all memory foam does. I’m perfectly comfortable as a stomach sleeper and so is my husband as a side/back sleeper.

Seeing conflicting reviews? Feeling unsure? (UPDATED)
Last week, I was where you are now- reading reviews and getting confused because some people RAVE about this topper, while others absolutely hate it. So what gives? The difference here appears to be very simple. This is a fantastic topper... but ONLY if you have a medium firm to very firm mattress underneath it. My mattress is fairly firm, and let me say this mattress topper has changed my life. No, I am not exaggerating. I am an insomniac and I move around a lot at night. I get into such a deep sleep at night now that I wake up actually feeling REFRESHED. I am more productive in the day now. I cannot speak for the long term integrity of it yet, (update: see below) but I will say that it does not create "valleys" where your body was. I used to get frustrated with my pillow situation (2 pillows not enough height, but 3 is way too much)... not anymore. It creates just the right shape to support me and my neck that the pillows are just fine now. I think a lot of the reviews on here saying that it is a struggle to crawl across, or that it sinks too deep, etc etc etc, are because they put their topper on a mattress that wasn't very firm. I hope that if you are considering this mattress and you know that your bed is a little cushy right now, to please consider that maybe youll come across some of these issues. But if you have a firmer bed right now, I am pretty sure you're going to love this topper! UPDATE: I have had this topper for over a year now and it still feels brand new. I am still over the moon with this thing. I have not moved the topper’s orientation as I expected I would have to (as I have done with previous foam toppers), but still do not see any indication of body indentation. This thing is amazing. If you want to soften a firm mattress then get it, seriously. Just get it.

If You're in Pain and Misery, Try This!
Look, I was an advertising copywriter. I know how goofy this sounds, but all I can say is Wow! For ten years, as arthritis, bad knees, bad neck and shoulder from a car crash worsened, I had the best bed on earth, a waveless king waterbed that made climbing into it a blessed escape at the end of the day. It was getting a bit of the loss of structural integrity that can happen after a decade, no leaks or anything of course, but I was nervous since the company had gone under. But I ended up with worse than a lousy waterbed. My husband endured an horrific 14-hour surgery that wrecked his back. And when we shopped for a new bed, he insisted on one that made my heart sink - an overpriced, over-engineered, crummy Sleep Number mall air bed. It lived up to my expectations. In fact, after a year, I was ready to pull my hair out. I can't figure out why he likes it. Doesn't adore it, but he likes it. I also never figured out what all those numbers on the setting dial are for, since I was miserable at all of them. And very hot. For the first time in my life, I shoved off the covers five times a night, then got cold and pulled them back on. Delightful. After spending an astonishing 10,000 bucks, the company wanted to stick us with a few thousand more for a cooling mattress pad they invented. You can imagine my answer. So began the lonely quest for a mattress cover, to masque what I was sleeping on. For the last 18 months its been a pricey and thick feather mattress pad. It was okay. Feathers everywhere, up your nose at night, coming through and sticking your flesh, but worse is the structure, or lack of it. I took off the sheet and shook it out vigorously every day. And with every day that passed, it sank a little lower in the middle third no matter what I did. Then I bought this, the 3-inch gel infused memory foam, but not for our bed. We travel a lot for our work, and I'm often consigned for long periods to rock-hard beds, which seems to be the fashion now in hotels. It was worth hauling this thing with me in our van. Two weeks in a Quality Inn in Dallas became better than endurable. This thing, first of all, does not boil you! I wasn't thrilled at ordering anything called 'memory foam' because that's my memory of it. The gel infusion not only gives it more responsive depth and softness, and firm body, but it also keeps you so much cooler than before. Heaven. Needless to say, I put it on my misery bed at home. If you're debating whether to buy a two or three-inch pad, I'll say this. The 3-inch is incredibly deep, so much so that, though I haven't actually tried it, I suspect you could have a concrete driveway under you and not know it. But when we returned from Texas, and I tried to put it under the sheet instead of all the duck feathers, it worked, but was a bit problematic. The Sleep Number is already fairly high, a strain on the deep bed sheets. Once I had this under it, it was comic. Feel like a need a step to get into bed. Which wouldn't bother me, except for the fact that I haven't improved the Sleep Number, I've obliterated it. I suspect I've killed a fly with a cannon. I just ordered this same pad in a 2-inch. I think it will give me all the same improvements in an easier package.

Last two/three paragraphs are my review, good product but flawed
So I've always had normal aches and pains ever since I can remember. I've had the mattress that I currently use for probably 7 or 8 years, so I'm aware its probably time for a new one. Anyways, my normal aches and pains, these last couple of months have been just awful. My hips and my neck, my back and my legs, you name it, it all has been hurting when I wake up in the morning and when I would try and fall asleep. When it first started I attributed it to bad pillows. Which could still be the case, but I purchased a Casper pillow (supposed to be the best of the best) and not only did that not help with my issues, but I felt like my aches were becoming worse. So scratch the pillow its got to be my bed right? Well yes, no question about it, I've had it for a really long time and in mattress years it's time to trade it in. Not only is it old, but it's one of those mattresses with a kind of "built in" padding on one side, and a hard, flat bottom on the other. So that recommendation on flipping your mattress something like every 6-8 months, I've never been able to do. You can see where I mostly lay down at night from the slight indent that has finally begun to show itself. So to make a long story short, I desperately need a new mattress. There are some issues with this though. Money for one, I don't have a couple grand to throw down on a beautiful TempurPedic mattress, no matter how much I wish I did. My measly Veterinary Nurse salary just allows me to pay bills and save a little which will eventually all go back to my school loans. So I was back at square one. I of course had been complaining to all of my friends and family about my aches and woes me, hoping someone would take pity on me (just kidding) but really I've just been some uncomfortable and barely able to sleep its like the first thing that's on my mind when I go to talk to anyone. In mentioning my issues with my old mattress to my friend Brooke, she asked me if i had ever tried a mattress topper. I had in college but it wasn't anything special. She said that she had recently just got one (not this exact product) and that how its changed her bed completely and that anyone who has ever sat or laid down on it has always commented on how comfortable her bed was. So I started looking, and looking and then not looking and looking again, because regardless of a mattress topper being significantly cheaper than a brand new mattress they still didn't seem cheap if you wanted one that was going to be good quality. In one of my not looking phases, I really hurt myself at work restraining a dog, and for days I was barely sleeping. Tossing and turning, miserable because not only was I in pain from my work injury but my bed was the absolute worse. Finally I was like that's it, I'm done, I'm either throwing this mattress out and becoming a person who sleeps on the floor or I'm just going to bite the bullet and buy a mattress topper. That same day I started looking and stumbled upon this guy. The reviews were all nothing but positive. The price seemed very reasonable and so I pulled the trigger and decided to purchase it. It came within only a few days, and I was so excited. I had read in reviews that some people were like me and couldn't wait the full 48hrs that the instructions tell you to wait for it to fully expand. I made it roughly 28 hrs before I decided that was enough. There was no smell to it that I or my sister could detect and it really did expand significantly from when I first opened it. My queen sheets fit snugly over it and maybe not as well as i'd like them to, but they do fit and its not anything that would be an eye sore. That first night I went to lay on my "new" mattress wasn't too bad, but to be honest it wasn't what I had hoped it to be. When you first sit on the topper it feels firm but soft and you slowly start to dip into it. When this first starts to happen its not so bad but after you've laid in one position for too long it felt as if i was laying on my old mattress again. That first couple of nights I was close to tears because I was so frustrated that this wasn't what I hoped or thought it would be. But then all of a sudden, I want to say like day 4, maybe 5, I stopped sinking in as much. I ACTUALLY slept through an entire night with minimal tossing/turning. Ever since that night, the mattress topper has been pretty much what I expected. I'm thinking that i really should have let it sit out for the full 48 hours, maybe even 72, and that when it finally started to feel comfortable was because it had maybe finally expanded to its full potential. Would I recommend this product? I would. It really isn't so bad now that I've had it for a couple of weeks. If i had to do it over I would A: probably buy a topper that said it was more firm and B: definitely let it expand the full recommended time, plus maybe a little more. This mattress is great if your dying for some relief and need something that isn't going to break the bank but is decent quality. I'm only giving it 3 stars however due to the fact that I feel like they didn't describe in enough detail how firm it really would be. Good product but flawed.

Adds a nice comfort layer to a too-firm mattress
My husband and I are sleeping on a spring mattress set that has several years on it. We need to buy a new mattress soon-ish but we haven't decided for sure what type we want so we're trying to extend the life and comfort of our current mattress. It's extra-firm, which both of us have always liked - I'd literally rather sleep on the floor (and have!) rather than on a mattress that's too soft. However, we're both mostly side sleepers and as we're getting older and experiencing more joint pain, we were both finding that our extra firm mattress was causing a lot of morning pain in our knees, hips, and shoulders. While we're considering the merits of spring vs. memory foam vs. hybrid, we decided to try adding a memory foam topper to our existing mattress both to extend the useful life of it and to see if it would help ease the pressure point pain in our joints and the LUCID 3-inch Gel Memory Foam mattress topper is the one we chose. We've had it less than a month so I can't yet speak to how it will hold up over time, but so far it's doing the job for which we bought it. It has added enough cushioning to greatly relieve morning joint pain for both of us, but we can still feel the support of the extra-firm mattress underneath and it's not so deep or squishy that it feels like trying to fight my way out of the center of a marshmallow whenever I change position - something I've experienced on a couple of memory foam mattresses I've tried. I don't think it sleeps particularly cool but I don't think it sleeps noticeably hotter than our mattress without it either - I'd consider it pretty temperature neutral. If you're looking for a way to suppress motion, I don't think this is thick enough to do that, at least not on top of a traditional spring mattress set. My husband and I can still feel it when either of us gets in or out of bed or changes position in the night. Again - no worse that the mattress without the topper, but no better either. But if you're looking for a way to add a comfort layer to a mattress that's too firm, we find this to be just right for that purpose. For what it's worth, we did lay it on top of a guest bed and let it expand for the full recommended 48 hours before we moved it to our bed and slept on it. I have no idea if that makes a difference to how it feels or how it will last, but since we had an unused bed available, we decided to let it expand as much as possible before sleeping on it. I'll try to remember to come back and post an update after we've slept on it a few months and have had a chance to see how it holds up over time. Six month update: Still loving it! It's still holding its shape, no "valleys" where we sleep each night.

Perfect alternative to Tempur and Visco Soft
I was searching for an alternative to Tempur and Visco Soft, and I finally found it. :) The 7.5 cm thickness is perfect, especially on top of a firmer mattress. Comfortable, supportive, and exactly what I needed.

Exelente
