I spent a summer in DC as a teenager and wanted to take my 2 teenagers but we only had a week. I was looking for in depth information on the best way to see each place and time and amount of money needed. It covers all of that and so many things I hadn't thought of like transportation, etc. The other books waste pages with colorful pictures. This book tells you "how" to see DC so you can spend your time and money most efficiently. Well thought out and organized.

I purchased this for our upcoming trip to DC. I have been a fan of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World for years. This book is very similar, but is much smaller (fewer pages) than the WDW guide. The book is divided into sections: accommodations, attractions, dining, shopping, etc. This guide has been very helpful as I prepare for our vacation, and I especially like the extensive museum descriptions. I will update the review when we return from Washington DC.

These books are wonderful. When we visit new places I see if The Unofficial Guide has a book for that location. The Disney book is fabulous. And I had an older version of Washington, D.C., however, since it had been so long ago when we visited D.C., I decided to buy the updated version.

With so much to see and do in DC and only a few days to visit, this book helped our family prioritize what everyone wanted to see. We used the contact information provided in the book to schedule timed visits and tours well in advance of our trip so we didn't waste time standing in long lines during peak summer vacation tourist season.

Excellent update, and relying on it to plan our trip. Only downside, smaller print than our original one.

This guide did not meet my needs or expectations. It might be good for someone who has done no research at all on an upcoming visit to DC. I have already made hotel reservations and have looked at many of the websites to places I want to visit, so not a lot here for me. I am not interested in expensive restaurants or night life or shopping at malls in the area. Will donate this book to my library as it might be useful to someone else.

I have used this book in the past to plan a DC trip several years ago. I expect this version to help with planning as well. Very helpful!!!!

Very helpful. So glad to have a trusted source for our trip. Love and have used the Disney guide with much success. Wish they would do more locations..
